JD Vance’s campaign plane was forced to make an emergency landing Friday afternoon after an in-flight malfunction.
The chartered Boeing 737 had to return to Milwaukee, where Donald Trump’s running mate had appeared earlier with local police officers.
“The pilot warned that there was a door seal failure. After the emergency was declared, Trump Force Two returned to Milwaukee,” spokeswoman Taylor Van Kirk said.
“Once the problem was resolved, the aircraft returned to its originally planned flight path back to Cincinnati.”

Cincinnati is home to the Ohio senator, and he frequently makes day trips to campaign events.
Vance has been crisscrossing key states in the 737 with his top staff, Secret Service agents and a handful of journalists, since he was named Trump’s vice presidential nominee.
On Friday he was accompanied by his wife Usha and dog Atlas.
Photojournalist Asher Heimermann, who witnessed the landing, said Milwaukee County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and inspected the plane before it departed for its intended destination.
Scanners indicated there were 43 people on board.
The tail of the plane is covered with the names of donors, and the inside is decorated with campaign slogans (such as “Drain the Swamp of Washington Corruption”).
It is the latest aviation issue to hit the campaign.

On Friday, Trump’s plane was forced to divert during a trip to Montana due to a mechanical problem. It landed in Billings, where the former president changed planes to continue his journey to Bozeman, where he held a rally.
It later emerged that he was on a private jet once owned by pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
This is a breaking story. More to come
