Trump faces furious backlash over ‘career leftist’ top White House adviser

Donald Trump’s incoming senior policy adviser on artificial intelligence is being branded a “career leftist” who contradicts the “America First” policies that won over voters during the election.

Sriram Krishnan’s nomination has been mired in vitriolic criticism as trolls ask Americans if they “voted for this Indian to run the country” and falsely claim he is not a US citizen.

Far-right political activist Laura Loomer labeled Krishnan a “career leftist” and called Trump’s appointment “deeply disturbing.”

“It is alarming to see how many career leftists are now being appointed to serve in Trump’s administration while sharing views that are in direct conflict with Trump’s America First agenda,” she wrote.

“How can we control immigration in our country and promote America First innovation? This is not an America First policy.”

Her comments were quickly rebuked by Krishnan’s supporters, including Elon Musk and newly appointed White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks.

Musk hired Krishnan in 2022 after acquiring Twitter and rebranding it as X.

Both Krishnan and Sacks worked together during the transition and were credited with restoring previously banned accounts, including MAGA supporters.

Sacks argued that Krishnan will have no say in immigration policy in his role as an advisor on AI technology.

But he went on to tell Loomer that she had misinterpreted Krishnan’s position on the granting of green cards.

Loomer had argued that Krishnan wanted to remove all restrictions on green cards, while Sacks noted that he simply wants to abolish country limits.

“Right now, every country in the world is allocated the same number of green cards, regardless of how many qualified applicants it has. So, applicants from India have to wait for 11 years, while applicants from many other countries have no waiting period at all,” he said.

‘Supporting a limited number of highly educated immigrants is still a prevailing view among the right. Sriram is definitely not a ‘career leftist’.”

Musk responded to Sacks’ comments, agreeing that they “made sense.”

This support from Musk and Sacks has not stopped MAGA supporters from condemning Trump and his new addition.

Later, Loomer accused Krishnan of donating to the Kamala Harris campaign, but that too was quickly shot down by Sacks, who insisted the donor was another person with the same name.

Sacks also noted that Krishnan “has been a U.S. citizen for ten years.”

“He doesn’t run America.” He advises on AI policy. He will have no influence on US immigration policy.

“These attacks have become abusive, and not in the holiday spirit. I’m logging out now. Merry Christmas.’

Krishnan’s role will focus on ensuring American “leadership in AI.” He will be responsible for helping shape and shape AI policy across the government, and he will work closely with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
