Trump denounces claims he’s ‘not campaigning’ in first high-profile speech of 2024

Donald Trump’s first high-profile campaign event in 2024 made him sound more like a politician than during any of his 2016 or 2020 rallies, showing the former president may be ready to “play ball” in his third Presidential campaign.

He also said that Joe Biden running the country makes every day feel like April Fools’ Day.

While Trump resurrected some of his biggest hits during remarks at the New Hampshire Republican Party annual meeting on Saturday afternoon, he mostly stuck to the script.

However, he made sure to reassure voters that he is still “mad” and still interested in winning and vowed that the rallies are coming “soon.”

“The demonstrations, which are going to start very soon, although it is very early,” Trump said. They almost force me to participate in rallies. ‘Why aren’t you doing rallies two years earlier?’

Donald Trump defended himself against claims that he has been slow to start his 2024 presidential campaign in his first high-profile event with a speech in the state of New Hampshire, the first primary election in the nation.

Trump was speaking to the New Hampshire Republican Party at their annual meeting in Salem, New Hampshire. The first primary election state in the nation is vital to those seeking the presidential nomination every four years.

‘But we’re going to make them soon. I think we should make a big one here. Let’s make a big one. They love our rallies,” Trump said in anticipation of a future rally in New Hampshire.

Some strategists and politicians have pointed to Trump’s slow-starting campaign to support claims that he has lost the spark or momentum to win a second term in the White House, but the former president rebuked those claims.

‘The fake news… he said when I announced that I just wanted to put my cards on the table. As you know, playing that great game right now, the greatest game of all because it involves the country and the survival of the United States of America,” Trump told a group of New Hampshire Republicans in Salem.

“But when I put the cards down, and then I said, ‘okay, let’s go.’ They said, ‘he’s not campaigning.’ This is like a month ago when I announced it. I said, well, you know, ‘I’m two years old.’

“They said, ‘He’s not doing rallies, he’s not campaigning, maybe he’s lost that step.’ Well now I am angrier and more committed than ever,” he insisted.

In his speech in the nation’s first state primary election, Trump announced that outgoing New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Stephen Stepanek will take over as senior adviser to his Granite State campaign.

With Stepanek on board, Trump says he actually has a chance to turn New Hampshire red.

Trump also said that if he is not successful in 2024, “that will be the end of it” and the “communists and Marxists” would have won and will now rule the United States.

“He will help us make sure that we have a win in the Granite State in 2024,” Trump said of Stepanek. “We stopped the communists, we stopped the Marxists, if we don’t stop them this time, I think it will be the end.”

“Everyone in this room shares the key mission: we are going to defeat Joe Biden and the radical Democrats,” said the former president. ‘These are people of the radical left. I think that in many cases they are Marxists and communists. I used to say that rarely, and now I say it all the time.

Trump spent a considerable amount of time pointing out Biden’s failures, saying it makes him feel like every day is April Fool’s Day.

Among the listed failures is the disastrous mishandling of the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was widely criticized. He also mentioned the Defund Police movement that leads to massive spikes in crime, as well as immigration policies that allow drug smuggling and people smuggling across the border.

“We have people in the middle of the biggest crime wave in history who want to defund the police. That’s April Fool’s Day, isn’t it? Let’s defund the police. You can’t even get your car, you go to New York, no one ever gets prosecuted,” Trump charged.

I’m the only one they’re after. It’s true,’ she said between massive laughs. “No one is prosecuted, they persecute me.”

As part of his lines of attack against the current president, Trump included his son Hunter Biden in his statements.

Specifically, Trump questioned when President Biden would finally get “mad” at his son for leaving a laptop in a repair shop that had “every crime he’s committed on it.”

At what point did the father [Biden] get angry? Like, ‘this kid is not working for me,’ Trump said in reference to the 52-year-old Hunter.

Trump urged Americans to “be careful” of the “fragile” United States.

“It’s crazy, this is a crazy world we live in,” Trump said. “And we have to be very careful because we have a very fragile country, this is a very fragile place.”
