Trump declares Megyn Kelly the ‘biggest loser’ of the low-rating fourth GOP debate after host said ex president had ‘lost multiple steps’ mentally – as he labels DeSantis a ‘bobble head’ and Christie a ‘sick puppy’ in late-night rant
Trump has declared Megyn Kelly the “biggest loser” of the low-rated fourth GOP debate after she accused him of being weakened by age.
The former president addressed the debate host, as well as nearly all of the presidential candidates who appeared in a tirade on his Truth Social account.
His comments came on the same day Kelly claimed Trump had “mentally lost several steps” during an appearance on fellow conservative Glenn Beck's podcast.
Trump, 77, has declined to participate in the debates and has so far refrained from offering his opinion on the performance of his fellow hopefuls.
But he waded in to criticize his opponents and the host of “the lowest-rated presidential debate in history” after it took place in Alabama on Wednesday.
Trump called Megyn Kelly the “biggest loser” of the fourth GOP debate, from which he was noticeably absent
His comments came after Kelly claimed that Trump has been weakened by age since his successful 2016 campaign
The two have a troubled history that began after Trump attacked Kelly for making derogatory comments about women to him during a 2015 presidential debate.
“The biggest loser was Megyn Kelly, what the hell happened to her?” Trump said.
“She lost everything she ever had, and that wasn't much. Some things never change!'
His stern words came just hours after she made a comment about him on Thursday.
In an appearance on fellow conservative Glenn Beck's podcast, Kelly had said: “There is no doubt that Trump has lost a step – or several steps.”
Kelly and Trump previously clashed during a presidential debate before the 2016 election, after Kelly criticized the real estate mogul over his attitude toward women.
A troubled Trump went after the former Fox talk show host over the “nasty” questioning in subsequent interviews, including one with CNN in which he said, “You can see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her everywhere.” came.'
He then boycotted another debate because Kelly was one of the moderators.
Trump also criticized the performances of fellow presidential candidates Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie in the debate
The former president took on the social truth and delivered a blistering attack on the performance of his rivals and moderator Kelly
The two appeared to have buried the hatchet, with Kelly interviewing Trump earlier this year and even imploring him to return to the debate stage to shake up the dynamic.
But she is not the only one in Trump's crosshairs, with the former president targeting four of his rivals.
“For starters, I thought Ron DeSanctimonious was terrible, with his bobble head facial movements and walking on eggshells, but that sloppy Chris Christie was even worse,” Trump mused.
“He is not mentally or physically fit to be president, and he suffers from TDS, or Trump Derangement Syndrome, at levels never seen before.
“In other words, he's a 'sick puppy.' Furthermore, his poll numbers are just 1%, in a class with “Aida” Hutchinson. He's dead, but so is Ron, whose weird bobble head and fresh mouth make his high heels look good. He's walking on eggshells!'
He said Nikki Haley, who he called “birdbrain,” looked “different and lost” but awarded her second place.
Thanks to his loyalty, he declared Trump fan Vivek Ramaswamy the winner.
“Vivek WINS because he thinks I'm great,” Trump added.
The businessman himself was once again conspicuously absent from the debate in Tuscaloosa.
Trump named Vivek Ramaswamy, an outspoken supporter, the winner of the debate because of his loyalty
However, according to polls from The Washington Post, the public voted Ron DeSantis the winner of the Republican debate.
The poll found that 30 percent of respondents thought the governor of the Sunshine State had won. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in second with 23 percent, followed by former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with 19 percent and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy trailing at 16 percent.
However, they are all being blown out of the water by Trump, who continues to dominate the Republican primaries.
According to poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight, Trump is now on track to win about 60 percent of the vote in the election, which begins with the Iowa Caucus on January 24.
