Trump co-defendant Jenna Ellis breaks down in TEARS as she pleads guilty in Georgia election case: Crying attorney says she would have refused to back ex-president ‘if I knew then what I know now’

  • Ellis broke down in tears as she expressed “deep regret.”
  • Prosecutors had recommended five years’ probation
  • Ellis blamed more experienced lawyers whose advice she followed

Jenna Ellis, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, has reportedly reached a plea deal with prosecutors in Georgia, where the former president and others have been accused of trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Ellis, 38, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting false statements and writings.

She had faced more serious charges of violating Georgia’s law on racketeers and corrupt organizations, and inciting a public official to violate his oath.

It came days after two other former Trump lawyers — Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro — also struck deals and pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Ellis was indicted two months ago, along with Trump, Powell, Chesebro and more than a dozen others.

Last week, Chesebro pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to file false documents.

Prosecutors recommended several years of probation, $5,000 in restitution, a letter of apology to the citizens of Georgia and 100 hours of community service.

Powell pleaded guilty last week to conspiring to overturn the outcome of the 2020 US presidential election.

She admitted six offenses in a deal with prosecutors that saw her sentence reduced.

Powell avoided jail and was placed on probation for six years.
