Trump claims Biden ‘doesn’t know he’s alive’ and can’t put ‘two sentences together’ as he bashes the 81-year-old for his gaffes amid worries about his age

Donald Trump spent much of his Fox News town hall bashing Biden's cognitive state, claiming the president “doesn't know he's alive.”

The former president criticized Biden for being unable to “put two sentences together,” just moments after Trump himself struggled to say a coherent sentence.

During his town hall Tuesday night, Trump went on about gossiping with Ted Kennedy about who the smartest and dumbest people in the Senate were at the time.

According to Trump, he did not want to reveal who Kennedy thought was the smartest because he “don't like that guy at all.”

The former president claims that in this alleged conversation – which apparently took place at the 'Kennedy Compound' in Palm Beach – Kennedy confided in Trump that Joe Biden was 'probably' the 'dumbest' person in the Senate.

Trump's Biden bashing was accompanied by other extraordinary statements made to Fox News host Sean Hannity at the Iowa town hall on Tuesday.

Trump followed up his anecdote with a tirade about Biden, saying, “now I see he's not in prime time for himself… I mean, years later he failed to become president when he was… like normal.”

The former president then stuttered further, but randomly changed the subject to nuclear bombs: “Something is going wrong and we can't afford it because we have a problem today,” Trump said. 'Nuclear weapons are the biggest problem in the world.'

“Take Hiroshima or Nagasaki and look, that was many decades ago and multiply that by 500. That's what a big bomb would be today,” Trump told the Fox News town hall audience.

“Whether it's Israel or really big countries,” he stumbled.

“Nuclear weapons are the biggest problem we have and we have a guy who can't put two sentences together. We have a man who doesn't know he's alive,” Trump claimed.

The former president refused to rule out an abuse of power to go after his critics — saying he wouldn't do so “except on day one” — when given multiple opportunities to renounce plans for revenge or a power grab.

Hannity questioned him directly about some of his critics' worst accusations – including that he planned to “abuse power” or use the legal system to take down his political rivals, pointing out that some want to call him “a dictator” .

“Just to be clear, if you are re-elected, do you have any plans whatsoever to abuse power, break the law and use the government to go after people,” Hannity asked him.

“You mean like they use now?” Trump responded, without answering the question directly.

'So in the history of our country? What happened to us again has never happened before. The accusations were more than nonsense about nothing,” Trump said, returning to a refrain that he has been indicted more times (four) than infamous Chicago gangster Al Capone.

After Trump focused on other topics during the sit-down interview, Hannity returned to the topic, having previously played a famous Trump clip in which supporters said, “I am your retaliation.”

“You promise America tonight that you would never abuse power in retaliation?” Hannity asked the former president, who is leading President Joe Biden in a series of polls.

“Except for day one,” Trump replied.

'Meaning?' Hannity asked him.

“I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill.”

“That's not retaliation,” Hannity pointed out.

Trump then tried to get a laugh out of the line.

'He says: you are not going to be a dictator. I said, “No, no, no – except on day one. We close the border. And we drill, drill, drill. After that, I'm not a dictator anymore.”

A Biden-Harris account tweeted the clip, adding the line: “Trump: I'll be a dictator on day one.”
