Trump celebrates ‘BIG VICTORY’ at Supreme Court on immunity, while Democrats cave, saying ex-president is ‘even more upset’ than ever

Former President Donald Trump celebrated his Supreme Court “major victory” on presidential immunity as Democrats began to melt down.

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 conservative majority ruled Monday in a monumental decision that a president does have immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts.

The six-three decision is a major setback for special counsel Jack Smith’s cases against the ex-president.

‘Great victory for our constitution and democracy. Proud to be American!’ Trump wrote on Truth Social immediately after the Supreme Court’s ruling was announced on Monday.

The majority of the country’s highest court ruled that the president has immunity from prosecution for official acts. The president has no immunity for unofficial acts, the majority concluded.

The three liberal justices disagreed, expressing concern about what the decision means for democracy, arguing that the Constitution “does not protect a former president from accountability for criminal and treasonous acts.”

The former president said in a separate post on Truth Social that the decision would end all criminal cases against him, including the New York convictions and the civil fraud case.

Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson called the ruling a “victory for former President Trump and all future presidents.” and another defeat for President Biden and Jack Smith’s gun-toting Justice Department.’

GOP Senator Roger Marshall wrote on X that the Supreme Court made the right decision.

“We must maintain strong presidential immunity protections to ensure our leaders can make difficult decisions without fear of political retaliation,” he wrote.

Senator Marsha Blackburn claimed the decision “punishes Democrats’ blatant attempts to weaponize our justice system against Donald Trump.”

While Republicans cheered the decision, Democrats began to melt down, saying Trump was “more deranged” than ever.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Monday she will initiate impeachment proceedings against conservative judges after they rule in Donald Trump’s immunity case.

Supreme Court justices are appointed for life unless they decide to resign or are impeached. The last and only time a judge was impeached was in 1805.

“The Supreme Court is embroiled in a corruption crisis beyond its control,” AOC wrote on X. “Today’s ruling is an assault on American democracy.”

“It is up to Congress to defend our nation from this authoritarian conquest,” she continued. “I intend to file an article of impeachment upon our return.”

Congressman Dan Goldman said on behalf of the Biden campaign on Monday that the decision represents a huge setback for democracy.

“It is a sweeping and devastating statement about our separation of powers and our fundamental belief and idea that no one is above the law,” Goldman said.

He pointed out that this implies that there will be no trial in Trump’s election interference case before the elections.
