Joe Biden heads to the Situation Room with Kamala Harris after Hamas hostages were found dead

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are meeting with the U.S. hostage deal negotiating team in the White House Situation Room on Monday morning, after six Hamas hostages, including an American, were found dead over the weekend.

Biden, 81, returns to Washington after a two-week vacation in California and his Delaware Beach home as the Middle East crisis escalates.

The bodies of the prisoners were found in a tunnel in the Gaza city of Rafah and have led to a crisis in Israel over the slow pace of ceasefire negotiations.

Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was one of the victims. He was kidnapped while celebrating his birthday with friends at the Nova Festival on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched their attack.

Angry protests have also broken out in Israel, with workers on general strike in protest at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s failure to secure the release of the hostages.

Distraught parents of American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin break their silence after she is killed by Hamas terrorists

The distraught parents of Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin have broken their silence after learning he was killed by Hamas.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, was abducted by terrorists from the Nova Festival – where he was celebrating his birthday with friends – on October 7 last year, as Hamas launched its attack on Israel. He lost part of an arm in the attack.

His parents Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg-Polin pleaded with Hersh to “stay strong” and “survive” just 12 days ago in a heartbreaking speech at the Democratic National Convention, in which the couple called for a ceasefire.

Yesterday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the bodies of six Hamas-captured hostages in Gaza have been recovered. Hersh is among the dead.

Hersh’s family confirmed his death in a statement on Sunday, hours after the Israeli military said it had found bodies in Gaza. They said: “With broken hearts, the Goldberg-Polin family is devastated to announce the death of their beloved son and brother, Hersh. The family thanks all of you for your love and support and requests privacy at this time.”

Following Hersh’s killing, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will meet with US hostage negotiators today to push for a deal that “ensures the release of the remaining hostages.”

Joe Biden, Kamala Harris meet with hostage negotiation team after Hamas kills six hostages

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden meet with the US hostage negotiation team in the Situation Room on Monday morning.

The meeting comes two days after six hostages, including 23-year-old US citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin, were killed by Hamas terrorists on Saturday.

The Labor Day gathering, closed to the press, comes just ahead of the first anniversary of Hamas’ initial invasion of Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the deadliest single-day attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

Goldberg-Polin was one of the hostages taken by Hamas terrorists in the October 7 attack. He and five other Israeli hostages were killed on Saturday.

Pressure on President Biden to cut off humanitarian aid and force Hamas to release Israeli and other foreign hostages held by the terrorist group in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza has increased over the past year.

Tim Walz’s Brother Warns Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Is ‘Not the Type of Character’ You Want in the White House: ‘The Stories I Could Tell’

Tim Walz’s older brother has warned that the Democratic vice presidential nominee is “not the type of character” you want in the White House.

Jeff Walz, 67, expressed concerns on Facebook last week about his younger brother running with Kamala Harris.

“The stories I could tell,” he wrote in one of the messages, a five-word warning that might send shivers down the spines of Harris HQ employees.

The married father of two was urged by fellow Facebook users to show his support for the Trump campaign. On Friday night, he declared: “I am 100% against all of his ideology.”

Jeff, who lives with his wife Laurie in Freeport, Florida, responded to that post by responding to others who had asked him to “let his voice be heard … at this pivotal moment in history.”

‘Nostradamus’ poll – which has correctly predicted almost every election winner for 40 years – provides major hint about his latest prediction

A historian who has been called the ‘Nostradamus’ of presidential election winners has dropped a major hint about who he thinks will occupy the White House in 2025.

Allan Lichtman, who has correctly predicted nine out of the last 10 elections, said in a YouTube livestream Thursday that he is close to completing his “final prediction” for the 2024 race.

“You don’t have to be patient much longer. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend … and within a couple of days after that, the forecast should be out,” the American University professor said on stream with his son Sam. “And this will be a final forecast.”

While keeping his final prediction secret, Lichtman gave away a key clue by criticizing a rival pollster, Nate Silver, who recently said Trump was his favorite.

“I saw the most absurd prediction today,” Lichtman said, referring to Silver.

Trump takes lead over Harris in six swing states, new polls show

The latest polls show that Kamala Harris received little to no support from the convention. Donald Trump has a better chance than the vice president in several important swing states.

A study by the Trafalgar Group of seven of the toughest contests (according to experts, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Nevada) shows that Trump is either ahead or tied with Harris.

Trafalgar’s survey, which is considered Republican by pollsters, also shows Harris nearly tied with Trump in Michigan, with the former president ahead 47% to 46.6%.
