Donald Trump's national lead over Joe Biden also extends to the battleground states that will determine the presidential election — including a 10-point lead in Michigan.

That comes in a state where Biden defeated Trump 51 to 48 in 2020. It's a state Biden has been courting, even walking a United Auto Workers picket line there in September.

Both states reflect Biden's struggles, even with parts of his natural coalition, including young voters.

The president's overall approval rating is poor in both states. In Michigan it is just 35 percent, lower than his national approval rating, and 39 percent in Georgia.

His general approval runs about 38 percent nationally, with 56 percent disapproval.
