Bold new push for Donald Trump to seize control of Australia: ‘Make Australia Great Again’
Donald Trump’s fanbase is calling on him to annex Australia as the new US president makes wild claims of a planned land grab.
“I don’t want to give Trump any more ideas, but these guys are out of guns,” conservative journalist Chadwick Moore said in a social media post on Wednesday, next to a map of Australia.
It comes after Trump suggested he could use “economic force” to make Canada the 51st US state and announced a plan to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.
He also refused to rule out the use of military force or economic coercion to gain control of Greenland and the Panama Canal.
Moore’s post on Wednesday received thousands of tongue-in-cheek but supportive comments.
‘Make Australia great again. Works for me!’ said one.
“You mean you’d take it by force? No need, we would sign up,” said another.
“As an Aussie, please take us with you, we need all the help we can get,” said a third.
Conservative journalist Chadwick Moore made the suggestion in a message to X on Wednesday, prompting thousands of mostly ironic comments.

“We’ll give you Victoria and New Zealand,” another Australian joked.
Conservative commentator Prue MacSween told Daily Mail Australia she could understand where the pro-Trump sentiment was coming from.
“While we all know it’s probably just a nice and funny suggestion, I understand why a lot of people would say we need a strong leader,” she said.
“We have a weak, spineless leader in Albanian and we seem to be floundering. The country is in a shocking economic state.
“We lack good leadership, our politicians have no vision, they are not courageous, they are terrified of offending minority groups.
‘We need warriors. People, and perhaps I am one of them, can see that Trump can give us a lifeline.”
Trump has long expressed interest in purchasing Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark that is rich in resources and is a key corridor for naval operations between the Arctic and the North Atlantic Ocean.
By acquiring Greenland – a longtime US ally and a founding member of NATO – Trump would ensure continued access to Pituffik Space Base – despite there currently being no threat to stop access.

“We need Greenland for national security purposes,” he said this weekend after refusing to rule out a military invasion.
Global warming is causing the region’s ice to recede, opening shipping lanes and access to incredible resources, making the region a new geopolitical and economic asset that the US, Russia, China and others want in on.
His land-grabbing plans have angered world leaders, including Canadian President Justin Trudeau, who insisted there was not a “snowball chance in hell” of Canada joining the US.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum also responded to Trump’s plan to rename the Gulf of Mexico, jokingly suggesting that the US should be called “Mexican America.”
On January 20, Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th American president.
