Trump asks if Kamala Harris was on drugs during ‘edited’ 60 Minutes interview at wild rally

Donald Trump shockingly questioned whether Vice President Kamala Harris was on drugs or drunk during her ‘edited’ ’60 Minutes’ interview.

Speaking to a buzzing crowd at North Carolina’s Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday night, the former president delivered a wide-ranging speech in which he touted his policy agenda and criticized foes Kamala Harris and Barack Obama.

Bringing up Harris — who gave an interview to CBS’ 60 Minutes two weeks ago — Trump wondered what led to such a “bad” media performance.

The network has been widely criticized for “deceptively editing” a long-winded answer Harris gave during the interview, after she admitted it aired a “succinct” part of her response.

And he speculated that drugs and alcohol could be to blame.

Republican presidential candidate, former President Donald Trump, arrives for a campaign rally at Greensboro Coliseum, Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, in Greensboro, NC. During the meeting, he wondered if Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is using drugs or drinks after her “bad” recent interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes

“Listen, ’60 Minutes,’ she was so bad, she gave an answer – this has never happened to me… she gave an answer that was so bad they changed it,” Trump said at the rally.

“They took it out and threw it away. They didn’t like editing it a little bit,” he said of CBS. “She didn’t know what she was doing.”

The former president then made some shocking accusations.

“Is she drinking?” he asked. ‘Is she on drugs? Don’t know. Don’t know. Don’t know. I have no idea.’

Trump provided no evidence of Harris’ drinking or drug history, only questioning whether she used the substances during the edited interview.

Trump’s legal team sent a letter to CBS threatening to sue the network if it did not release a full, unedited transcript of the interview.

The letter accuses the network of engaging in “news distortion” and its producers of “deliberately misleading the public by airing an expertly edited transcript of the interview while choosing to release other portions online ‘.

It hints at possible legal action by saying: ‘Please acknowledge receipt of this letter within 48 hours and further confirm your intention to cooperate with these demands.’

Trump attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik writes that it was intended to “cause confusion among the electorate about the capabilities, intelligence and appeal of Vice President Kamala Harris.”

The former commander-in-chief has repeatedly suggested that the networks have a broadcast license.

“You know, they have to be licensed by the federal government,” he told the crowd in Greensboro. “They should have their driver’s license taken away.”

“They take every word of it and then throw it away, adding another answer called election interference and fraud.”

Former President Barack Obama this week compared Trump to a crazy old man

Trump also ridiculed former President Barack Obama during the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Obama called Trump “old” and “crazy.”

“There are questions about his competency.” said Obama. “You’d be worried if Grandpa behaved like that.”

“So in Wisconsin, we don’t need to see what an older, crazier Donald Trump looks like without guardrails. America is ready to turn the page,” he said at an event with Tim Walz.

The Republican tried to flip the script and claim that Obama, 63, “looks a little older, doesn’t he?”

He also called Obama a “jerk” and “divider” who looks “exhausted” after running for Kamala Harris.

The former president also touched on the usual topics, such as bringing back the American dream, curbing inflation and combating illegal immigration.

He also repeated his common claim that Harris is “the worst vice president in the history of our country” and once again repeated his famous line from his hit show The Apprentice.

“You’re fired Kamala,” he said to applause.
