Trump is said to have written ‘to-do lists’ on the back of classified documents

Former President Donald Trump took office recycling to a new level by writing notes for Molly Michael on the backs of cards with secret markers, according to a new report. The notes included “to-do” lists and other tasks for Michael, who served as Trump’s executive assistant in the White House and then followed him to Mar-a-Lago after he left office.
The FBI failed to discover the lists during an August 2022 raid on Trump’s private club in Florida, ABC News reported. But when Michael returned to her work area after the raid, he noticed the materials and alerted police.
According to ABC, citing unidentified sources familiar with her statements, she told investigators that she sometimes received “requests or orders” from Trump on the backs of note cards. She later saw that they had “visible classified markings” and included material used to brief Trump on conversations with foreign leaders on foreign policy matters from his time in the White House.
Sources told the network that Michael found the cards under a drawer organizer the day after the FBI raid. She alerted police and “helped turn them over to the FBI that same day.” According to the report, when Trump learned last year that agents wanted to interview Michael in connection with the investigation into the documents, Trump told her, “You don’t know anything about the boxes.”
Michael also testified about note cards before the January 6 House Committee. She said they were known as “pocket cards” used to convey information to the president. Trump has labeled the investigation into classified documents a witch hunt.
Last week, he filed a criminal complaint alleging that “the boss” told an assistant to delete Mar-a-Lago’s security footage. Trump called it a “bogus” indictment. The network identifies Michael as the likely person referred to as “Trump Employee 2” in the indictment filed by prosecutors.
The indictment describes the employee exchanging text messages with charged alleged co-conspirator Walt Nauta regarding the boxes of materials discovered at the club. “I opened the door and found this…” Nauta wrote, with an image of boxes of documents and newspapers piled on the floor. The photo had ‘visible classified information redacted’.
“Oh no oh no,” the employee responded, adding, “I’m sorry Potus had my phone.” A Trump spokesperson denounced “illegal leaks” and said the story lacks “proper context and relevant information,” and said Trump has done nothing wrong.
