Shocking footage captured the moment a runaway truck plowed through streetlights, a bus stop and multiple front yards after the driver passed out behind the wheel.

The B-double truck was traveling on Hamstead Road in Manningham, central Adelaide, just after 10am on Tuesday, when it suddenly began to veer off the road.

Dashcam footage shows the truck heading to the nearby sidewalk and demolishing everything in its path, including a bus stop and several trees.

Eventually it came to a stop in a hedgerow a few yards from a house.

Miraculously, no one was hurt during the terrifying incident, but a great path of destruction was left.

Motorist Paul Brackley managed to capture the truck on his car’s dash cam and said he was nearly struck by the runaway vehicle.

It is understood that the 31-year-old truck driver had passed out behind the wheel and collapsed onto the console when Mr Brackley ran over to help him.

Mr Brackley said it was a “miracle” that no one was killed, not a single pedestrian on the sidewalk or in their front yards during the crash.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with photos of the scene showing the vehicle’s windshield completely smashed while nearby trees were scattered on the ground.
