Troy Deeney has argued that Tottenham would like to help Arsenal win the Premier League.

And the fiery frontman has a searing rebuke for anyone who disagrees: you’re ‘f****** weird’.

Spurs fans were faced with the ultimate dilemma ahead of their clash with Manchester City on Tuesday.

A win could greatly boost their top-four hopes depending on how the results turn out this weekend, but it could almost hand bitter rivals Arsenal the Premier League title.

Losses and Spurs’ Champions League ambitions have been extinguished, but it would give City the edge over Arsenal.

In an explosive column for The sunDeeney argues that Spurs fans must want City to be pegged back to give themselves and the rest of the league hope.

‘I’m getting to a point where as a football fan I want another team to win the league. Not because City are terrible, but it just gets boring,” he wrote.

‘We want to see the likes of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and hopefully Spurs all pushing and competing until the final ebb of the season.

“I want to sit there and think, ‘Damn, who’s going to win the league?’ instead of, β€œThis is a done deal, it’s City, get on with the summer,” because it becomes a waste of time.

‘So here we go: Tottenham would like to help Arsenal win the title by getting a result against City.

“It gives themselves and everyone else hope that one day they can win it.”

First, Ange Postecoglou’s team must take on Burnley on Saturday, while City travel to Fulham.
