Steve has been on the air for over 20 years with Tanya in the Newcastle area and Hunter, co-hosting their weekday breakfast show Tanya & Steve.

They attended the ACRAs along with their executive producer Tyran ‘EP Ty’ Stig and co-host Ryan ‘Ryzy’ Stuart.

Following the event, Southern Cross Austereo hosted an after party at Pumphouse Bar & Restaurant in Darling Harbor for its broadcasters.

Tanya and Steve were on the air for three mornings after the ACRAs, but inexplicably didn’t return on November 3.

It took over a week for the show to return to the airwaves on November 14 with Tanya, Ryzy and EP Ty hosting.

Tanya explained that she and Steve had been through some rough times and he would be taking a short break from the show.

‘I can’t tell you everything. That is the truth. But I can tell you that both Steve and I, separately, have probably had some of the worst months of our lives,” she said.

‘And that’s different. That has nothing to do with each other and that has nothing to do with work.’

She went on to say that on November 8, Steve made the decision not to “come back” and that he would be returning to the show in “a few weeks.”

‘I promise you this. We will be back. The foursome – stronger, bigger, better than ever. We have already arranged some things for next year,” she added.
