Triple J presenter Ange McCormack has announced that she is stepping down after nearly eight years.
Ms McCormack made the announcement on social media on Thursday, telling followers she was saying “an emotional goodbye to a job I love and a team who have become lifelong friends.”
“Triple j has taught me everything I know and I am so lucky to have been supported and invested for so long,” Ms. McCormack wrote.
She added that she would not have left the national broadcaster unless the “opportunity was huge”.
She will now join the ‘7am’ podcast to replace host Ruby Jones while on maternity leave.

Ms. McCormack has worked at the ABC for just under eight years, spending most of her time as part of Triple J’s newscast, Hack.
She was nominated for two Walkley Awards for her investigative work on both Hack and the ABC’s Four Corners program on sexual assault committed through dating apps.
Speak against Schwartz mediawho publishes the 7 a.m. podcast, Ms. McCormack said she was “honored to join the Schwartz Media team.
“I can’t wait to join Schwartz and spend time with the inspiring team,” she said.
The podcast’s producer, Scott Mitchell, said he’s “admired Ange McCormack’s work for a long time, and I’m thrilled to have her join me.”
“It’s going to be a lot of fun working with her as she hosts the show for the next six months,” said Mr. Mitchell.
