An hour before her flight departed from London, Trinny took melatonin to switch her body from ‘day’ to ‘night’ so she could rest during the 22-hour journey

An hour before her flight departed from London, Trinny was taking melatonin to switch her body from ‘day’ to ‘night’ so that she could rest during the 24-hour journey.

“It’s not a sleeping pill, but you take it an hour before your flight. It just makes your body switch that it’s night now. I’m not jet lagged this time,” she said.

“I always apply three applications of our Plump Up serum which is incredible and I microneedle it. Then I put on a dry sheet mask – Nannette de Gaspe – to keep everything inside. They’re really good.’

She applies a lip balm like Laneige or Lanolips to maintain hydration and – for the first time – she wore a hoodie like her daughter Lyla to “feel good.”

“It’s a very good trick. I also did what my daughter did for the first time and I wore a hoodie. I really like a hoodie because it protects you and that’s my new joy: the hoodie. Who would have known that at the age of 58,” she said.

Trinny gushed about the latest serum for her Trinny London range of skincare, calling it the “sweets” nestled among the essentials.

‘I wanted something akin to candy—everything else in the range is like spinach and salmon—and this Plump Up is the pudding. If you have to have an analogy for food, it’s very easy for me,” she said.

“You should do your retinol and AHAs and stuff, but this is the perk that everyone ends up using twice a day.

“I use TipToe In, then I do a spritz and then I pump up the spritz so it holds it and is very hydrating. And then I do another pump. And that combination gives me this skin.

“It’s like choosing from your favorite kids, and you shouldn’t, but I must say this is my favorite.

“In our clinical trials, we got a 64 percent increase in firmness in 12 weeks. And we all know I’m doing Botox, but this for my skin makes me feel amazing… it’s really the most exciting thing there is.”

In an earlier packaging video shared on YouTube, Trinny talked about using her custom containers to specify her packaging.

‘I bring my Trinny London containers with different things in them. I have a piece of jewelry in something small so they don’t rattle,” she said.

“I have pills, my supplements morning and night, and my hormones. They are in a container that I got from Amazon. I bring carrot tint because my hair grows really fast, my shampoo from Hair Story and a blue shampoo in case my hair gets lighter in the sun.

‘When I travel I like to take things with me that took me forever to discover… actually I’m trying these for the first time [b12 supplements for jet lag]Altrient for vitamin C, elderberry tincture for curing a bronchial infection.’

the magnetic Trinny London founder never holds back when it comes to sharing her tricks and despite preaching a “simple is best” mantra in most things, she’s open about her “complex” skincare routine and anti-aging tips.

“My skincare routine is pretty complicated,” Trinny said earlier.

‘I cleanse my skin twice in the evening: once with a balm and then with an AHA BHA PHA gel. Then I do a little acid, retinol and finish with a peptide. In the morning I put on a cleansing balm, vitamin C and when it’s summer I go straight to my BFF Skin Perfector.’

In between, Trinny does small facial massages to oxygenate her skin and focuses on lymphatic drainage. She does this with her hands and tools, including gua shas and the AUD$483 NuFace device that reduces wrinkles and tightens sagging skin with micro-currents.

‘I always hit my face, I do a lot of lymphatic drainage. For me it’s about lifting and continuity. If people use things once every two weeks, nothing happens, don’t bother,” she said.

‘I’ve been using Botox since I was 35. I started it because I had a really, really bad forehead when I started in front of the TV, and I have a deep forehead. Botox was still embryonic at the time, but I thought “why not?”. I’m 58 now and I’ve never had lines on my forehead because of that.’

As for the diet, Trinny gives a stern warning about sugar when it comes to aging and inflammation.

For decades, English style and beauty icon Trinny Woodall has built a legion of fans swooning over her style advice and charismatic DIY tutorials — whether on TV or more recently, social media live streams.

“We’ve had a lot of conversations over the years about alcohol and cigarette smoke and sun and all those different things that have the free radicals running across our faces like an army,” she said.

‘We have only recently started talking about the impact of sugar. Most people when they have rosacea or pimples or something like that, sugar is a major source of inflammation.

“I want to run 80 up the hill and I want to help women appreciate the whole holistic approach while also lowering our sugar levels because the inflammatory markers are the basis of many serious diseases.”

What are Trinny’s top anti-aging secrets at age 58?

* Reduce sugar as much as you can without depriving yourself of joy – swap ice cream for apple with peanut butter or a stick of good quality dark chocolate

*Have a good skincare routine and stick to it

* Only invest in quality skincare gadgets if you stick to them. Buy them and check them out if you want to see results. Don’t make it a chore and use them on the toilet for five minutes if you’re short on time

* Take marine collagen every day and apply it on your face

* Use makeup with nourishing ingredients that heal your skin while wearing it

* Focus on lymphatic drainage methods on your face, it is excellent for reducing puffiness

*Listen to your body and your skin, it will physically show you if you have inflammation in your body

Trinny, who alternates between dark chocolate and apple with peanut butter for after-dinner snacks, said listening to your body is key, as inflammation will show up on a physical level pretty quickly.

‘As women go through menopause, inflammation is much more noticeable. So when I eat a chocolate full of s**t, my ankles swell because I feel the inflammation. My body tells me not to take the second measure and I listen. It’s not about depriving people of the pleasures of life, it’s about balance.’

Trinny has spent years formulating products for her Trinny London range that are not only effective but nourish the skin at the same time.
