Trinny Woodall has revealed Michael Parkinson whispered to her that Meg Ryan was ‘ac***’ after their infamously frosty interview in 2003.
The What Not To Wear star, 60, appeared on the episode of Parkinson’s chat show with her sidekick Susannah Constantine before Meg was interviewed.
The pair warmed up to Parkinson’s interview with actress Meg, in which she gave him very short answers to questions and ended in a heated argument.
Appears on the Dish from the Waitrose podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Trinny revealed how the late announcer really felt after the car crash interview.
“I remember something very specific, thank God Mr. Parkinson,” she said. ‘Um, we had our turn first and then she came in… And as we were leaving, he whispered in my ear and said, ‘God, wasn’t she ac***?’

Michael died in August 2023 at the age of 88 after a short illness.
Recalling the interview, Trinny continued, “It was like, because he was really… there, she was there to promote her movie, and he asked every question and, you know, you’re there to sing for your dinner , you’ When you promote a film you get paid millions, and people pay £12.99 to see you, so, you know, give us something.
‘And she said, ‘No. Yes. No.’ No elaboration… We had done our interview and then they bring in the lead actor because we were the warm-up, so usually they have a lot of time and you can maybe ask one question.’
Trinny added: “He (Michael) was so desperate that we asked quite a few questions… Just to lighten the, um, difficult party atmosphere… Never forget it, yeah.”
In 2003, Meg gave a series of short answers while promoting her film ‘In the Cut’ on Sir Michael Parkinson’s BBC talk show.
The Hollywood actress apparently wanted to be somewhere else while promoting her movie ‘In the Cut’.
During the icy exchange, Michael asked if her fear of journalists gives her insight into what they want, and Ryan replied defensively, “Now that I’m wary of them?”
Michael replied: ‘Yes, you are wary of journalists, you are wary of me, you are wary of the interview. You don’t like being interviewed.’
Later he asked, “If you were me, what would you do now?” and Meg told him to “get it over with.”

He also later claimed in an interview with Australia’s Stellar Magazine that Meg (pictured in 2018) was rude to the guests on his show.

The talk show veteran has blamed Ryan’s irritated facial expressions and aloof behavior for her film’s poor performance.
In 2020, Michael said: ‘There was a very good reason; she was in a movie that wasn’t doing very well and was at the end of a long tour and couldn’t wait to get home.”
But speaking to Marie Claire, the When Harry Met Sally star laid the blame on Michael for the icy interview.
She stated that she felt Michael criticized her for being naked in the film, saying she was “so offended by him.”
In 2006, Ryan said, “I don’t even know the guy. That guy was like a disapproving father! It’s crazy. I don’t know what he means to you, but he’s crazy.
“He said something like, ‘You need to get back to doing what you were doing.’ I thought, “Are you a disapproving father? Go away, buddy.” I was so offended.’
Years later, Michael was asked which interview he would do again if he had the chance
The broadcasting juggernaut told GMB: ‘I’d like to get Meg Ryan’s line right. I mean, we were both in a pretty grim mood, I think. There was another way to deal with it and get more pleasure out of it.’
