Trinity Rodman issues furious response to dad Dennis as she refuses to accept public apology: ‘A joke’
Trinity Rodman has refused to accept a public apology from dad Dennis after he promised to mend their broken relationship, labeling his online olive branch a ‘joke’.
Trinity, who is a football star and Olympic gold medalist as well as one of the N.B.A the legend’s two daughters, bashed her ‘alcoholic’ father in an astonishing appearance Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast this week.
Following the scathing interview, Rodman sent an apology to Trinity on Instagram, insisting he would continue to try to patch things up with her no matter how long it took.
“Sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be but anyway I still tried and I’m still trying and I’ll never stop,” he wrote along with a selection of photos of them together. “I’ll keep trying even if, as an adult, you’re told not to answer my calls. I will try even if it is hard and if it takes a long time.
‘I am always there and tell you all the time, rather it is your voice or voicemail, how proud I am. I have always had one wish: I wanted my children to call me and come to me. Hopefully I can get that one day. I’m here and I’m still trying to answer the phone. You have my number. You see me calling, I’m still here. Dennis RODMAN – Dad’.
However, Rodman’s attempt to reconnect with his estranged daughter has not gone well, with Trinity instead claiming in an angry response that she is ‘done’ with him.

The 22-year-old feuded with her ‘alcoholic’ father on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week
Dennis apologized to Trinity and promised to keep trying to mend their broken relationship
“Just kidding,” she wrote alongside her father’s apology in a now-deleted post on her Instagram Story. ‘Just the reaction. Wipe my hands with it, I’m done. Thank you’.
During her Call Her Daddy performance, Trinity accused Dennis of being absent for most of her life, claiming he was only her father “by blood.”
“He’s not a father,” she told Cooper. “Maybe by blood, but nothing else.”
“We tried to live with him,” Trinity added, likely referring to herself and brother DJ. ‘But he throws parties 24/7 and brings in random b****es. He likes the spotlight
Throughout his career, Rodman was known as much for his party antics as he was for his legendary defensive and rebounding skills during two decades in professional basketball.
When he retired from the sport in 2006, those antics did not slow down, and he has since sought treatment for alcohol abuse.
Trinity didn’t hesitate to call her father an “alcoholic” on the podcast, despite admitting she still felt the need to protect his public image.
“We never want to make him look bad,” the USWNT forward said. ‘And that comes at the expense of retaining a lot. I think it’s like the anger that I haven’t really been able to express is hard for me.”
But the women’s footballer refuses to accept the apology and insists she is ‘done’
Trinity accused her father of being absent from the majority of her football games on the podcast
Dennis was noticeably absent from Trinity’s football games, albeit during one NWSL quarterfinal match with the Washington Spirit in 2021.
“He came to my game, I was so angry,” Trinity told Cooper. “My mom had no idea until he was like, there. And I think she got a call or something. But they were in a suite, field side. And again, going into my rookie year and going into a quarterfinal, I’m already fucking in my pants. I’m stressed and saying, ‘Oh my God, we have to win.’
“We’re going, I’m playing… and I hear it,” said Trinity, who had not seen her father for months before that. “And his voice says to me, (makes a high-pitched ringing noise) so I hear him say, ‘Let’s go Rodman, let’s go to Trinity.’
“And I’m like, ‘oh my fucking god.’ There is no way this is happening now.”
At the end of his apology, Dennis added about her claim that he was absent from most of her soccer games: “I see you play all the time (actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to come showed up because I was who I was). with instead and I just want to support you.
“So I watched you from the balcony of my hotel, just to make everyone happy. I love All My Kids #untold #stories’.
But Dennis claimed in his apology that he watched many of her matches from a distance
Despite her hostile reception, Dennis offered to reconnect with Trinity after his surprise appearance at the Washington football game.
“He said, ‘I want to see you soon, I’m in DC,’” she continued to Cooper. “I was like, ‘Okay.’ And then radio silence. I didn’t see him again until this year. I only spoke to him or saw him, I think, just after the World Cup.’
“Stupid for me to think this would be a new spark,” Trinity added.
‘That was me every time. He’d come over, I’d say, ‘Okay, here it is again. We’re going to start something. He’ll be around.’ Boom, months and months and months. This time it was years. And I thought, OK, cool.”
