Floral tributes have been paid to a young woman who tripped over a wall and fell to her death while singing and dancing with her friend.

Arina Glazunova’s final moments were captured by her friend in the hard-to-watch clip recorded on September 27 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The images, which are widely shared on social media, show the 24-year-old from Moscow walking along the sidewalk and singing along to the hit ‘For The Last Time’ by the Russian boy band Hunger Boys.

You see Arina looking at her friend’s phone without looking where she is going. As she continues to sing, the camera switches back to her friend, who watches in horror as Arina falls headfirst over the edge of a wall and disappears into an underground passageway.

Her panicked screams can be heard briefly in the clip before it cuts to black.

The 24-year-old woman fell to her death during a night out with a friend after missing her step and falling through the entrance to a subway station.

Radio Liberty Georgiaa Georgian news site, has reported that an investigation has been launched into the incident.

Tbilisi City Hall has said the Soviet-era passage was built according to construction standards of the period.

The city’s mayor, Kakhi Kaladze, has said that underground passageways through the Georgian capital meet modern construction standards.

Nino Imnadze, dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design at the Technical University of Georgia, told Radio Liberty Georgia that underground passageways built by the city in the 1980s were deliberately designed without railings to double as benches.

She said: ‘The wall should have been at least 60 centimeters high and wide. Nothing was done from above, because it also had a seating function.’

Several social media users have expressed their shock at the tragedy, with some commenting on the safety of the metro station entrance.

A local Dato Akobia said on social media how dangerous the wall where Arina fell is.

Another social media user said: ‘Why are there no security fences? Is it normal that they walk on the edge of the abyss every day?’
