Tributes poured in for Paul Danan after it was announced on Thursday that he had died aged 46.
The actor was best known for his role in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, before appearing in reality series Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother.
A statement shared by Paul’s management and acting officers said: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years of age.
‘Paul was known for his television presence, exceptional talent and unwavering kindness and was a beacon of light to many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.
‘During this difficult time, we kindly ask for respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends and colleagues. No further comment will be made at this time.”
One of the first to express his condolences was EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney, who wrote that Paul had a ‘heart of gold’.

He took to his Instagram stories and shared a photo of the soap actor, with the caption: “You had your demons but my god you had a heart of gold… RIP Mr. Paul Danan.”
Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace also took to social media to express her ‘heartbreak’ and pay tribute to her friend.
She wrote: ‘Paul Danan…a friend of mine…I am so shocked and heartbroken…my dear husband…I will cherish all our happy memories. SHOUTED, you beautiful, wonderful, talented human being. I’m so sorry.’
Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey also commented on Aisleyne’s post: “This is so sad.”
Ex-EastEnders actor Michael Greco praised Paul for being a ‘real and caring man’ in a world of ‘falses and fake people’.
He wrote on X: ‘So, so sad to read about the passing of Paul Danan. In this time of untruths and fake people, he was a sincere and caring man who wanted to please everyone. A sweet, warm man who will be missed by many. RIP buddy’.
And former darts player Bobby George remembered Paul as a ‘very vibrant young man’ after starring alongside him in the 2004 film ‘One Man and His Dog’.
He wrote on X: ‘So sad to hear of Paul Danan’s passing. We worked together on the film ‘one man and his dog’ a few years ago. He was a very vibrant young man. Condolences go out to his family and friends at this very sad time.”
Music star DJ Fat Tony shared a tribute on Instagram as he wrote: ‘This hurts so much, god bless you Paul, one of the sweetest men I have ever met, what a sad day x.’

Recalling their memories, she wrote, “We listened to your favorite song on repeat in your car. Will remind me of you forever’, with Rain Or Shine by Five Star in the background.
Before his death, Paul ran his Morning After Drama group and prison workshops that help people struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
He was also pictured arriving at Bristol Magistrates Court in November.
His latest Instagram post, shared on January 9, showed Paul filming himself acting out a scene from the William Shakespeare play Twelfth Night.

Paul’s death was announced in a statement from his management
He captioned the post: “It has been a long time since I have come near a piece of the Master who is our pioneer, Sir William Shakespeare.
‘You forget what a genius he really was and remember how beautiful and exciting it is when you get to work with his work.
‘It’s a great experience! I sometimes forget how often to wake up…
In December, Paul also hosted a TikTok Live where he discussed his struggles with mental health, in a bid to raise money for his charity The Other Side Of Morning CIC, which aimed to ‘create more community projects across the UK for people struggling with their mental health.”
