Jurgen Klopp has insisted Trent Alexander-Arnold will play in the position that best suits Liverpool after excelling at both right-back and midfield.
The England international has shown he is equally adept in both roles, scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Liverpool beat Fulham in a 4-3 thriller on Sunday.
Alexander-Arnold also provided the superb free-kick that bounced off the back of Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno for Liverpool's opening goal at Anfield.
Klopp, speaking ahead of the Reds' visit to Sheffield United on Wednesday, refused to be drawn into a debate over Alexander-Arnold's strongest position.
He said the 25-year-old is very happy to fit into the team wherever he is needed.

'Trent can play in midfield, we always knew that. Trent can also play the role we gave him very well. That's it, we'll see,” Klopp said.
'If he wants to be good, he has to have an influence in all areas, because it only makes us better when he plays well. But he clearly did that in the last game.
'It's always so unpleasant to make headlines. Watch the matches and discuss it yourself. We play him where we think is best for him, and then people say “he should play here, he should play there”.
'He became one of the most successful players in the history of Liverpool FC, in their recent history, as a right back. He became a Premier League player as a right back.
'So he can definitely play more inside. He will play where it is best for us, that's just the way it is.
'I'm not stubborn, I don't play him in midfield or whatever, I don't participate in the discussion. You can talk about it all you want, it won't affect anything.
“We have to make decisions about what is best for the team and Trent sees it in exactly the same way.
“He wants to play and from my point of view he has to be influential and we have to make sure we help him with the positioning.”
