Travis Kelce’s mom reveals what he told her about his and Taylor Swift’s meeting with Prince William
Travis Kelce suffered a severe bout of imposter syndrome after meeting Prince William earlier this year, mother Donna has revealed.
Kelce met His Royal Highness at one of girlfriend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium last summer, with the trio and William’s children Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 9, posing together for a famous selfie backstage after the concert.
Three months after the royal meeting with her NFL star son, Donna, 71, remembers Travis telling her that crossing paths with Prince William was “one of the coolest things.”
However, she also talked about his modest reaction to being in the company of such a high-profile figure.

Donna told me Extra on Travis’ thoughts on meeting Prince William: “He said, ‘When you meet people like that, you know when the royals come in or Paul McCartney or Hugh Grant… there’s someone in the suite, you just think, who’s on this photo doesn’t fit? Why am I here and why am I even allowed to talk to these people?
She then added, “But I think he’s handling it pretty well, he’s quite a friendly guy.”
Travis also discussed his interactions with the English prince during his New Heights podcast last summer.
“Dude, he was the coolest motherfucker,” he told brother Jason. ‘He was great. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them.’
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end also admitted he didn’t know how to greet Prince William and his children when they first met.
‘[I] “I wasn’t sure if I should bow down to them, take a bow, just be an American idiot and shake their hands,” he added.
Despite already being one of the greatest tight ends in football history, Kelce’s profile has skyrocketed since he started dating Swift last year.

The pair have become one of the most famous celebrity couples in the world over the past 12 months, and Donna says her son is loving the extra attention.
‘He’s always been someone who wanted to be in the spotlight. He likes attention. I mean it, he’s always dancing, always joking, always having fun… he just loves life,” she revealed.
“It seems like his life is on a trajectory that is only increasing every day. Every time I turn around I see him doing something different. Whether it’s on the golf course, or at a concert, or whatever, he’s just living his best life right now.”
Although he loves life off the field, Kelce is struggling right now after getting off to his worst start ever in an NFL season.
The 34-year-old has just eight catches for 69 yards in Kansas City’s first three games of the season – his lowest mark ever in a three-game span.
