When he first met Taylor Swift before a Kansas City Chiefs game, Ed Kelce admitted he couldn’t remember the pop star’s name.
One of the most famous people in the world is dating Travis Kelce, Ed’s son, and he quickly remembered who she was.
Kelce admitted that he was mentally awkward with radio station ‘92.3 The Fan’ in Cleveland.
“When Travis brings a lot of friends into town for the game, everyone gathers at his house even though he’s not there,” Ed said.
“Taylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her and I say (to my girlfriend), ‘Oh my God, I know this guy, but I don’t know her name.’
Ed Kelce and Swift have been living together in luxury suites since the pop star started dating Travis
Swift and Kelce’s public relationship has received tremendous attention in recent months
“Gosh, you know, like a real idiot,” Kelce continued. “And (my girlfriend) says, ‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.'”
Ed was quick to take notice of Swift before the two were seen together in public for the first time at Arrowhead Stadium.
Swift has since routinely visited the Kelce family for Travis’ games and vacations.
It’s now safe to say that Swift has Ed’s approval to date his toned son.
“She’s very down to earth, very genuine,” Ed Kelce said. ‘She doesn’t pretend to be in the foreground or anything like that… The ‘girl next door’ is an overused term, but she really is.
“I mean, she’s been performing in front of big crowds for more than half her life. And that someone is so grounded and so normal. I mean, I hate using that word, but other people don’t.’
The next time Ed and Swift cross paths will likely be Sunday, when they’re both in Baltimore for the Chiefs’ game against the Ravens.
