Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole reveals she unfollowed Brittany and Patrick Mahomes to ‘protect’ herself… amid the NFL star’s romance with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole said she unfollowed his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany to “protect” herself.

The influencer, 31, said she still has “love” for the quarterback, 28, and his wife, 28, but had to cut ties with them on Instagram to “move forward,” amid the new romance of the NFL star with Taylor Swift – who has also built a quick bond with Brittany.

Kayla, who unfollowed the pair earlier this month, also claims she is still in touch with everyone involved, including apparently Swift’s, 33, beau Travis, 34.

‘For everyone it’s like, “Oh, you guys broke up a year ago,” and that meant it’s like a light switch, you turn it on and off and everything goes dead and black and you never talk to anyone again . ‘ she said People.

‘That’s not the reality. I have ongoing relationships with all parties involved,” she said, adding: “There is a lot of history and friendship in there, that doesn’t change overnight.”

Kayla — who recently shared a video about “backlash and shame” — added that she and Brittany “have had our conversations” and “she knows I love her.”

Travis’ ex also revealed that she had private conversations to let Brittany and Patrick know why she decided to hit the unfollow button.

‘The reality is that I know these people in real life. And so in real life I communicated with these people why I had to make the decisions I made publicly.”

Kayla continued, “For me in my life, I have to move forward and everyone has to respect that. And if they respect that, hopefully it means that they will no longer involve me in things that I am not involved in.’

Elsewhere in the interview, she revealed that her breakup with Kelce has had physical consequences, causing her to lose a significant amount of weight “in a very short period of time.”

‘I didn’t sleep, I didn’t eat. I was really abusing melatonin to sleep at night,” she said.

She has since revealed that she has entered therapy and now encourages people to ‘mentally take care of themselves’.

Kayla and Brittany became friends during her five-year relationship with Kelce before splitting in May 2022.

In fact, Kalya was one of eight ladies who attended Brittany’s bachelorette weekend in February 2022.

In recent weeks, as Kelce’s whirlwind romance with the Bad Blood singer continues to grow, Brittany was photographed enjoying her time in the stands with Swift as they cheered on their men.

Their victory dance, which involved clapping the front and back of their hands before bumping their hips, was staged by embittered keyboard warriors who called it “cringe.”

But sources close to the couple claim they are shaking off the hate as they are busy planning double dates with their respective partners.

“There has been talk that Brittany and Patrick will see one of her shows abroad after the season ends.

Travis and Taylor made their romance public at his football game on September 24 and have been spotted on numerous outings since.

The singer has attended four of his matches so far, and he is reportedly planning to join her next month when the international leg of her Eras tour kicks off in November.
