Travis Kelce’s dad Ed reveals why he was banned for life from X as he fumes over ‘social media turds’
Ed Kelce has revealed that he has been banned from X for life for a post that violated the site’s rules, but claims his account has been hacked.
Kelce, the father of famous NFL brothers Travis and Jason, shocked fans when he announced on Facebook over the weekend that he has been suspended from the online platform formerly known as Twitter.
He shared a news report claiming that Houthi arms dealers use X to sell weapons, writing: “Arms dealers are allowed to advertise their wares on X but I’m banned for life and they won’t say why. It’s just a general ‘Terms of Service’ violation.”
Following that revelation, Ed has now revealed the reason behind his X-ban in a new post on Facebook, in which he criticizes the ‘social media turds’ behind it.
“Let me try to make something clear here. I’m rarely on Facebook or Instagram. I get Google alerts in my email about articles that mention the boys and I post them remotely on Facebook so that friends and family can see them,” he said.

‘I posted the article about arms dealers being active on X because, frankly, I was pissed off at Elon’s trolls. I rarely wrote anything about X; I only followed sportscasters. It’s useful to hear what these guys have to say during games, especially in stadiums where you don’t have commentators like you do when you watch on TV.
‘I was active on X/Twitter from September to February and read other people’s posts. Apparently the X Twits think I posted something in May or June 2023 that violated their rules. That never happened. I think I got hacked, because the platform is not very secure.
“When I started this conversation, my comments were just to highlight the hypocrisy of these social media idiots.”
Ed and the rest of the Kelce family rose to fame quickly after Kansas City Chiefs star Travis started dating Taylor Swift last September.
The Kelce brothers joked on their New Heights podcast that they were nervous about the conversation their father had with Swift during a Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos last October.

“Papa Kelce in the spotlight. If you watched the game, you saw something big happen,” Jason said.
“Great,” Travis added, before Jason continued, “He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift.
“If you see Dad talking to someone and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going.”
Travis continued, “You know Dad like I know Dad. This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for participating in this.”
