Travis Kelce WILL appear in Happy Gilmore 2, confirms Adam Sandler

Travis Kelce’s acting career reaches another milestone with a guest appearance in Happy Gilmore 2.

Adam Sandler confirmed the news during an appearance on The Tonight Show, where he spoke to Jimmy Fallon.

“Travis said so we have something fun for Travis,” Sandler said. “He’ll come over.”

“He’s a really nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Kelce is a huge fan of the original film and said on his New Heights podcast earlier this year that he would love to appear in the second film.

Travis Kelce has landed a cameo appearance in the new Happy Gilmore movie

“Man, I didn’t even know there was an opening,” he told his brother Jason. “I’ll work extra fucking hours, anything to avoid Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler movie, an Adam Sandler set — you bet your ass.”

“I’ll do everything in the film. I’ll participate in any way I can.”

Kelce was also photographed wearing a Happy Gilmore hat at Coachella this year, where he attended the music festival with his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

An open casting call for filming in New Jersey was announced this week, but it’s not yet clear when Kelce will appear in the film.

“We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey, we’re going to start in a couple of weeks,” Sandler said. “It’s good, we worked hard on the script, we didn’t want to disappoint people.

“There are so many golfers coming. I have to practice (the Happy Gilmore swing). I’ve tried, I’ve fallen. But I’ll be ready when it’s time to shoot.”

Kelce is currently preparing for the start of the new NFL season, in which his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, has a historic chance to win a third consecutive Super Bowl.

The Chiefs play their first game of the season on September 5 at Arrowhead Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens.

But for Kelce, 34, the cameo news marks a new step in his acting career as he prepares for life outside of football.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, he is also in negotiations for a role in the action comedy ‘Loose Cannons’.

The three-time Super Bowl winner also hosts his own game show, Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity, which debuts on Amazon Prime in October.

Kelce will also star in Grotesquerie, a new drama series written by Ryan Murphy coming to Hulu on September 25.

He lifted the lid on his experience filming the show at New Heights in May, saying, “I feel like an amateur. And I haven’t been fired yet, so we’re doing OK.”

“It’s been so much fun. Ryan Murphy is an incredible writer, director, producer, all of the above, man. He’s just – there’s nothing he can’t do and everyone has just been so supportive in making me feel comfortable.”
