Travis Kelce has long had an exuberant interest in fashion — long before his profile took a huge upward spiral when the Kansas City Chiefs star started dating Taylor Swift.

The two-time Super Bowl winner, 34, has built a reputation as a marksman and has often turned up to games in diamond earrings and Louis Vuitton jackets.

But now, in conversation with the Wall Street Journalwith his fashion sense under scrutiny like never before, the Chiefs star has opened up to fans about how he decides what to wear ahead of a big game or night out.

“I just do it instinctively,” he said, before admitting that it could take up to three hours before he finally figured out what to wear for a match.

“It’s really just about the thread,” he explained. ‘I quite enjoy the creative process of the panic of just putting something together.

Kelce, 34, told the Wall Street Journal that it can take up to three hours for him to choose an outfit

Kelce said he enjoys the “creative process” of choosing his clothes before heading out

‘It’s clear that not every look is for everyone. I won’t be offended if someone says I look like a clown if I wear a nice hat and crazy jeans. It is what it is, I’m going to have fun with it. Usually I do it to put a smile on someone’s face.’

In 2020, Kelce — one of the best tight ends in the NFL — signed a new four-year contract with the Chiefs worth $57.25 million, and he admitted that clothing is one of the main things he spends his money on.

Apparently, he even told the WSJ that he converted a bedroom in his house into a wardrobe with more than 300 pairs of sneakers.

“Money gave me access to certain designers and certain fabrics that I now absolutely love,” he said.

But he is most loved by many hundreds of thousands of his fans in America in the red and white Chiefs jersey with his number 87 in the middle.

It’s a look that might also make its way across the country: The NFL reported a 400% increase in sales of its jerseys after being paired with Swift.

Kelce was outstanding in his team’s last game: a 19-8 win against the Denver Broncos, where Swift was in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer him on.

He even played through the pain barrier after spraining his ankle while rolling it on the grass in his team’s previous game, a 27-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

He’s had a 10-day break since the Broncos win, where he went to New York to spend time with Swift, and it came at a good time professionally, as he’s been able to rest the ankle a little longer than normal.

And it will also have given him more time to select his next gameday outfit. The Chiefs, the current Super Bowl champions, resume their season at home against the Chargers on Sunday.

The team is currently 5-1 on the season.
