Travis Kelce slammed for ‘partying all offseason’ as criticism mounts amid his awful start to the NFL season

Former ESPN football analyst Todd McShay has criticized Travis Kelce for “partying all offseason” as the Chiefs tight end faces mounting criticism for his poor start to the NFL season.

Through three games, Kelce has caught eight passes for 69 yards and failed to score a touchdown, much slower than his usual dominant pace.

While opponents have taken aim at Kelce, the hounding by linebackers and defensive backs hasn’t stopped Taylor Swift from reaching the end zone and putting up huge scores in the past.

It’s no secret that Kelce had the busiest off-season of his career, possibly a more intense period between the Super Bowl and training camp than anyone else in the NFL.

His numerous brand deals and personal investments would keep anyone busy. And then there’s his globetrotting to keep up with Swift’s stadium tour stops in London, Amsterdam, Singapore and more.

Travis Kelce has had a terrible start to his 2024 season with just eight catches in three games

Some have attributed Kelce’s poor start to how busy he’s been this offseason amid his relationship with Swift

“Every show I watch, every pre-game show, the half-time show, the post-game show, the mid-week show, every broadcast I’ve watched over the last few weeks, it’s like, ‘We’re not allowed to say he’s out of shape, he’s been partying all off-season?'” McShay said on ‘The Ryen Russillo Podcast.’

“He’s traveling around with probably the most famous person in the world, drinking and going to the US Open.”

Kelce even went so far as to join Swift onstage during one of her ‘Eras Tour’ shows in London.

“What I do know is I want you to take a picture of you preparing for the 2022 season and a picture of you preparing for the 2024 season. They’re hardly the same people,” McShay continued.

“… The attention and respect he gets is the same, the athlete isn’t. Is he going to work himself into shape during the season? Yes, I’m sure. He’s an incredible competitor, he’s one of the best that’s ever done it.”

‘He still manages to score a few goals every now and then and pops up in decisive moments, but he’s not the same at the moment.’

Kelce will get another chance to prove his skeptics wrong on Sunday when the Chiefs travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers.
