Travis Kelce says NFL coverage is focusing on Taylor Swift TOO MUCH during Kansas City Chiefs games after football fans vented their fury: ‘They are overdoing it for sure’
Travis Kelce says NFL coverage focuses too much on Taylor Swift as she cheers him on from the stands at Kansas City Chiefs games.
Swift attended Kelce’s last two games, but football fans were left outraged by the number of times the camera cut to the pop star during Sunday night’s game against the New York Jets.
Travis said on Wednesday’s new episode of his New Heights podcast, “They’re definitely exaggerating it a little bit, especially my situation. They’re just trying to have fun with it.”
NBC switched to Swift seventeen times during Sunday’s game, prompting Kelce to say, “Damn, that’s crazy.” That’s like driving once. Mom told me everyone had a good time.
‘They are not there to be thrown on television. You never know you might get caught throwing away a big old cheeseburger and you’ll look like an idiot.
“There are certain things you just don’t want on TV all the time.”
Kelce appears on his podcast with his older brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. He sided with his brother’s opinions and told the NFL to follow the NBA’s lead.
“The NFL is not used to celebrities coming to the Games,” Jason said. “Basketball has figured it out.
“You show them once, let them know they’re there, maybe after a touchdown, but you can’t overdo it. There are people there to watch the game.’
Swift attended the game in New York with some of her A-list friends, including Ryan Reynolds, his wife Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman.
The speculation now turns to whether she will be in Minnesota this Sunday, where Kelce and the Chiefs will play the Vikings.
