Travis Kelce responds to Rob Gronkowski’s comments about star tight ends playing on the same team
Travis Kelce seems to agree with former NFL star Robert Gronkowski’s dream to play on the same team.
The Kansas City Chiefs star and Gronkowski are hailed as two of the best tight ends the NFL has ever seen, with three and four Super Bowl titles to their names, respectively.
The duo has dominated their position for the past decade, sparking debates among NFL fans over who is entitled to the GOAT title.
But Gronkowski recently claimed, despite hanging up his boots in 2022, that the idea of him and Kelce working together would be deadly.
“I think we would be perfect to both be on the same team,” he told former teammate Julian Edelman on their podcast DudesOnDudes this week

‘I feel like we’re working against each other a bit, we’re different players. His aspect of the game, how he can line up anywhere. How he can move to any point on the field at any time. I was kind of a guy [that was] like, “Tom [Brady} do I have to motion across the line of scrimmage?” I’m too big to be motioning. Travis is lighter, you an motion him around.
‘We would compliment each other an unbelievably and I would say that we would have been one of the best duos to play, if we’d played with each other. We would’ve broken records.’
Kelce responded to Gronkowski’s claims by insisting the notion of them becoming teammates would be ‘unfair.’
Responding to the clip shared by the DudesOnDudes X account, Kelce posted: ‘Dudes…. Same Team!?!? Would be unfair!!’
‘Just imagined myself lateraling the ball down field to @RobGronkowski,’ he added along with two laughing emojis.

Gronkowski played for the New England Patriots from 2010 to 2018, winning three Super Bowls in the Brady-Bill Belichick era, before following the quarterback down to Tampa Bay.
The 35-year-old initially announced he was retiring after nine seasons in March 2019 but came out of retirement in 2020 to reunite with Brady for the Buccaneers.
The pair went on to help Tampa Bay beat Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV that season.
Gronkowski was a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro, while Kelce already has nine Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors.
