Travis Kelce rejects claims he is ‘back’ and reveals the REAL reason why the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0

Travis Kelce has dismissed suggestions that his record-breaking performance against the Chargers was proof he is back to his best.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end silenced his critics with a much-improved showing at SoFi Stadium. He amassed 89 yards — more than in his first three games combined — and posted a franchise-record 917th reception.

His performance prompted NFL analyst Tony Romo to declare that “Kelce is back,” while his broadcast partner, the legendary Jim Nantz, insisted, “All good shots, you gotta find someone else to troll this week.”

But the Chiefs star has insisted he still has more to do – including scoring a first touchdown of the season – before celebrating too much.

Speaking about the latest episode of New heightshe said to his older brother Jason, “Everything outside the building is just noise… (but) big game? When is 89 yards a big play? It was a solid game, a big game is like me scoring a touchdown or something.”

Kelce added: “I was responsible for this match, I didn’t have a single drop, what happened in Atlanta made me feel like I had a bad match.

“I still didn’t have an excellent game, there’s a lot that goes into having a great game, but I did have seven catches, which is to say, a lot of times you get the rock and I went north with it, so that’s what it is.

“I helped my team find a way to win, and that’s all that will ever matter.”

The Chiefs’ 17-10 win over the Chargers moved the Super Bowl champions to 4-0 despite Kelce’s early-season struggles.

It followed close wins over the Ravens, the Bengals and the Falcons, with the tight end praising Kansas City’s defense for laying the groundwork as the Chiefs chased a three-peat.

“There’s obviously a lot of things we need to clean up on the offensive side,” Kelce continued.

“Our defense is the best in the league right now, I just love Spags (defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) and everyone on that defensive end doing their best.

“Our defense just keeps coming up big, it happened in the Falcons game, it happened in the Bengals game, and it happened in this game.”

Kelce, who watched wide receiver Rashee Rice being carted off the field after colliding with Patrick Mahomes, added, “On the offensive side of the ball, we got to get rolling, man. And it’s not going to make it any easier to see Rashee go down.”
