Travis Kelce pulls up to Chiefs game in vintage Chevelle with special meaning but Taylor Swift doesn’t join him
Travis Kelce arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in a Getaway Car stylish enough to make girlfriend Taylor Swift proud.
The tight end headed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Sunday Night Football game against division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers in a ’69 Chevelle SS with a special hidden meaning.
The Chiefs star’s special arrival on game day was thanks to the children from his Operation Breakthrough program, Kelce’s charity for families and children in the Kansas City area.
The program’s Ignition Lab students transformed the vintage vehicle into a powerful, fully electric car, along with the help of MINDDRIVE.
Kelce, who opted for a more relaxed gameday fit compared to his usual fashionable flair, posed on the hood of the rust-red car wearing beige cargo pants, a navy v-neck sweater and white sneakers.
The 35-year-old was promoting the car, which is being raffled off for charity at $100 each for tickets.
Travis Kelce arrived at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday in a refurbished ’69 Chevelle SS
The renovated car features a large 2016 Tesla Model S rear drive, combined with an 87 kWh battery pack, which delivers impressive electrical power.
It also features modern conveniences such as power windows and locks, upgraded air conditioning and a Dakota Digital Dash instrument cluster that seamlessly integrates the vehicle’s electric system while retaining the charm of the original design.
A 1200-watt Bluetooth stereo system with hands-free voice-activated options is the final highlight on the wheels to ensure a premium audio experience.
In 2020, Kelce purchased land to build a STEM facility for high school students at Operation Breakthrough.
Kelce’s Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation partnered with the organization years ago and launched the Ignition Lab in August 2020.
It houses a digital media lab, an automotive and engineering lab, and its own food truck run by culinary arts students.
During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, Kelce also donated all the food and supplies Breakthrough needed for 15 weeks “to keep things normal for the kids.”
And earlier this year, he partnered with breakfast food brand Kodiak to provide hot breakfasts for hundreds of families in the Kansas City area.
Taylor Swift won’t be able to attend Sunday’s game because she’s performing her final Eras Tour show
Swift has been to Kelce’s 19 games since they met at the start of the 2023 season
However, his pop sensation girlfriend won’t be leaving Arrowhead in the getaway car anytime soon.
This week’s schedule sets up a frustrating showdown for one of the world’s most famous couples, with Kelce playing for the Chiefs against the LA Chargers at the exact same time Swift takes the stage for the final time on her tour.
Kelce has been to a whopping 14 Swift’s Eras Tour shows, while she’s seen him play football 19 times since their relationship began last year.
Sunday night will also be the first game Swift has missed at Arrowhead this season after heading to Kansas City for the previous six games.
Kelce will surely be devastated to miss such a big night for his other half as the curtain falls for the final time on her sold-out tour show in Vancouver.
Swift is now expected to take some time off the road, and her time off will likely involve some more Chiefs football watching her man.
After the game against the Chargers in Kansas City, the Chiefs will head to Cleveland next weekend – the city where Kelce grew up.
They then host the Texans in their final home game of the regular season before wrapping up with trips to Pittsburgh and Denver.
From there, Swift, Kelce and Co will be hoping for another Super Bowl run – while Andy Reid’s team will go for the three-peat, with this season’s showpiece event taking place in New Orleans in February.
