Travis Kelce opens up on shocking car crash age 17 that saw him lose his drivers’ license after totaling his Dodge Caravan by hitting three parked cars – with some of his football team in the back: ‘I put lives in danger’
Travis Kelce talked about a car accident that resulted in his driver's license being revoked when he was 17 – and how lucky he was that no one was seriously injured.
The Chiefs star reflected on his time as a teenager with his brother Jason on the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, where they discussed what they did 17 years ago.
Kelce, now 34, said, “My driver's license was just suspended by the state of Ohio.”
Jason burst out laughing as Travis continued the story, “For totaling my junked Dodge caravan of yours!
'It was a purple van with a silver back [door]we called it the Purple Dragon.”

But the story took a more serious turn when Travis explained what happened.
He said, “Flying around with some guys from the football team in the back. Kids, wear your seat belt… don't do this, this was very stupid and I'm very glad everyone came out okay, it was lucky.
'I weaved in and out of traffic and hit three parked cars. Long story short: I blame the tires.
“There's about a 100 foot skid mark in these parked cars, I wasn't going that fast, probably only 70 miles per hour, but it was pretty crazy.
'But I'm glad I came out OK, and the cars of the guys I hit weren't too damaged, so it wasn't that bad for insurance purposes… but I did drop my driver's license for this to take. I put everyone's lives in danger, and rightly so.
“Don't do that, you damn kids. Be a better child than me.”
Jason added: “It sounds like something that would require you to have your driver's license taken away. If there's one thing you shouldn't mess with, it's a motor vehicle.'
Travis' passion for cars was not dampened by his childhood accident and he has been seen driving girlfriend Taylor Swift around in a range of luxury motorbikes since they started dating.

Some of the highlights in his garage include a $348,000 Rolls-Royce Ghost and the 1970 Custom Chevrolet Chevelle SS that he drove Swift around Kansas City after she went to her first Chiefs game in September.
He also has a Cadillac Escalade, a GMC Hummer EV SUV and an Aston Martin Vanquish in his collection.
But for now, Kelce's attention is focused on Las Vegas and the Super Bowl after the Chiefs returned to winning ways in the NFL this weekend, beating the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce and the Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl last year and defeated Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles in the finals, wrap up the regular season on Sunday against the Chargers in LA.
