Travis Kelce leaves fans in stitches as he collects Sportsman of the Year at 2024 Kansas City Sports Awards… after dashing back from Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island mansion

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce returned to Kansas City to accept the Polsinelli Sportsman of the Year award at the Kansas City Sports Awards.

Kelce left Swift’s mansion in the seaside town of Westerly early in the morning to catch a flight to Missouri for the ceremony.

The tight end charmed the crowd during an interview as part of the festivities, providing plenty of laughs as he told several stories.

That also goes for his recent catch of Patrick Mahomes, after the quarterback threw the ball behind his back to Kelce after running the wrong route.

“It was like slow motion, man. The ball was just there for the taking. Sure enough, I ran the wrong route, but I still got the first down.”

He continued to praise his quarterback and admire his creativity when asked if Mahomes would try more passes.

“Who knows what pass he has up his sleeve? He didn’t do it behind the back because that’s what everybody wanted. He’s officially said he’s only going to do it if he has to. You know what I mean? If he has to.

“I think that’s the fun part about playing with him, is that he’s just an incredible player naturally to be able to do things like that and be so confident. You never know what’s going to happen.

Kelce added: “I would say the most creative of the group is Andy Reid. The more things Coach Reid has us do, the more you’re going to see on the field.”

Kelce then thanked the Kansas City community for all they had done and expressed his appreciation to them.

‘Thanks guys for everything you do in this community. I’ve been here for 12 years. I love the support.

“That’s why I came tonight to make sure you see the faces of the people who love you as much as you love them. So I appreciate you.”

Wearing a white baseball cap and sweatshirt, Kelce tried to keep a low profile as cars blocked the view of the plane before beginning the two-hour drive back to Kansas City by herself, leaving the “Fortnight” singer at the oceanfront mansion with her friends.

Kelce was back in Kansas City after spending some time in the Ocean State, where he enjoyed the company of Swift and actress Blake Lively.

Footage obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com shows Travis boarding the plane and shaking hands with airport staff, before security follows with his bag for the weekend.

Wearing a white baseball cap and sweater, the star tried to remain inconspicuous as cars blocked her view of the plane before beginning the two-hour drive back to Kansas City alone, leaving the “Fortnight” singer alone with her friends.

He climbed the stairs to the Dassault Falcon jet, the same model as his girlfriends, at midnight, giving him a few hours before he was due to appear at the awards ceremony.
