Travis Kelce ‘is in talks to star in action comedy film’ for major Hollywood studio amid Taylor Swift romance

Travis Kelce is heading to the big screen after landing his first film project.

The Kansas City Chiefs star has reached new heights of fame thanks to his romance with girlfriend Taylor Swift, dazzling fans in advertisements, appearances on the Eras Tour and even on TV shows.

But the tight end is now set to make it big, as he is in negotiations to star in the action-comedy film ‘Loose Cannons,’ according to The Hollywood reporter.

The project is currently being developed by Lionsgate with John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski producing alongside his 87Eleven Entertainment partner Jason Spitz.

Tim Dowling, who starred in Adam Sandler’s comedy Just Go With It, is said to have written the script.

The film, which is said to be similar in atmosphere to the classic action films Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys and Rush Hour, is said to be based on the idea that every police department in the world of the film has an unruly, rule-breaking cop who eventually teams up with an officer who is just as deranged as they are.

It’s unclear when production will begin or what role Kelce will play with the 2024 NFL season looming.

However, if he manages to land the role, it will be the next step in the Super Bowl winner’s ambitious off-field endeavors.

Kelce has already built an impressive resume in Hollywood, appearing in an episode of the Showtime comedy Moonbase 8 in 2020 and hosting Saturday Night Live in March 2023.

He recently signed on to host the television show ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’, a spin-off of ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’

The show, filmed in Los Angeles during the American football offseason, will air on Amazon Prime and its launch date, October 16, coincides with Kelce’s NFL week off with the Chiefs.

Kelce has also landed a role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series, the horror drama ‘Grotesquerie.’

The 10-episode series from the co-creator of Glee and American Horror Story will debut in September and will follow a detective trying to solve a series of gruesome crimes.

Kelce’s role remains a mystery, but he previously admitted he felt like an “amateur” on set.

“It was so much fun,” Travis told his brother, Jason Kelce, in an episode of the new heights podcast in may.

“I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I’m not fired yet,” he continued. “They haven’t told me to kick stones after the first week.”

The tight end said he didn’t want to give too much away about the plot, but described the series as “quite a mystery.”

Kelce has confirmed that 'Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?' will be released on October 16.

“Everyone has been so helpful in putting me at ease and giving me the direction and coaching I needed to be able to fulfill this role,” he continued.

‘I just go through it scene by scene and make sure I remember my lines… I’m very amateurish about this.’

Meanwhile, Kelce is gearing up for the start of the new NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs are less than a month away from kicking off their new season with a big showdown against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce and the Chiefs are in contention for a historic third Super Bowl appearance this season, and his girlfriend Swift is expected to be there to cheer him on from the stands as much as possible.
