Travis Kelce has slammed critics of his beer-guzzling graduation antics on New Heights Live last week after Taylor Swift’s boyfriend was called “insufferable” and “embarrassing” by her fans.
The Kansas City Chiefs star and brother Jason took their killer podcast on the road last week, hosting a live event at their former school, the University of Cincinnati.
A chaotic evening ended when Kelce finally received his diploma during a mock ceremony. Before accepting his award, Kelce drank a beer in front of thousands of fans before slamming it into the ground.
But the move didn’t go down well on social media, with fans claiming Swift was ‘sick about this’, while body language expert Judi James wrote the ‘attention-seeking’ view indicating the NFL star will never ‘grow up’.
However, during this week’s episode of New Heights, Kelce defended himself and said the graduation ceremony was “just a nice way to end the night.”

When discussing the controversy, the three-time Super Bowl winner said, “AAny of you are thinking this was a graduation ceremony because we had just gotten our diplomas and it was a very serious matter – we appreciate Cincinnati’s president and athletic director for this – but it was just a fun way to end the night.
‘Hopefully you can understand that I was chugging beer because I had a beer in my hand and had to receive the diploma.
“I had to get the beer out of my hand somehow, so I might as well drink it.” It happened to be full. I don’t know how that happened.’
Jason then interrupted to mock his younger brother’s failed attempt to down the beer, claiming that most of the contents were still in the can when he claimed to have finished the beer.
He said, “Well, it stayed a little full, as we saw when you threw it on the floor and beer was still pouring out.
Travis replied, “Pour it out? That looked more like foam. It was foam because I couldn’t get the airflow and it just came out.”

Discussing the criticism, Jason added: “If there was anything anyone should be angry about, it’s the fact that you didn’t finish that sigh.
‘That’s why I was angry. There was just way too much spillage to be considered a successful chug.
“Sorry to anyone who was upset by this. It just wasn’t that kind of event. It wasn’t that serious. Before this, there were two women wrestling in a vat of chili.
“I’ve never been to a game because I skipped mine, but I’m pretty sure the athletic director isn’t the one who hands you your diploma. But I was thrilled to receive this diploma from John Cunningham.
“It was an absolutely fun night, littered with all kinds of shenanigans and in the words of the great Charles Barkley, I don’t think Travis or I should be anyone’s role model.
‘I think if you had finished your beer, people would have been a lot less mad at you. That was the main thing that upset people.”
After images circulated of Kelce chugging his beer at the fake graduation ceremony, body language expert Judi James exclusively told DailyMail.com that he’s ‘trapped in a state of perpetual teenager’.

After receiving his graduation certificate on stage from two polite and formally dressed men, Travis decides to take the moment to show the world how he can guzzle beer from a can, throwing his head back like a showman to celebrate. dropping beer from a height so that it flows out of his mouth and down his chin.

She continued: “Many high-profile athletes can find themselves trapped in a state of perpetual teenagehood and this seems like telling behavior from a 34-year-old man who is rumored to be preparing to propose to America’s current sweetheart.
“Heroes can have fun and celebrate a victory, but usually on the field rather than on a stage where a certain level of maturity may have been necessary.”
It also didn’t go down well with Swift’s legion of loyal fans when they took to social media to criticize the NFL star, calling him a “disgrace.”
One wrote: ‘Travis Kelce drinking that beer at graduation is a cringe of the highest order.’
Another added, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Taylor Swift gets tired of Travis Kelce’s drunken public behavior.”
And a third said: ‘Travis Kelce is an absolute disgrace, this kind of behavior is cultural rot.
‘This is what Taylor Swift loves and she wonders why she has to write so many break-up albums…’
“I don’t understand how this is okay today? Just because it’s Travis Kelce? I can’t stand this guy, he really destroyed the NFL and he thinks he’s funny all the time,” someone else commented.
