Travis Kelce denied that his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, told his teammates he was retiring after Monday night’s playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Multiple reports surfaced Tuesday morning that Kelce had informed his teammates of his upcoming permanent locker room cleaning. But Kelce dismissed those claims at a news conference Friday afternoon, suggesting the 36-year-old might even continue playing.

“It turns out he was retired and he didn’t really say anything about that,” Travis Kelce said Friday. “I think everyone felt sorry for him at the end of that game, knowing he’s thought about it a lot over the years.”

‘The documentary shows that. You don’t have to walk around and ask anyone,” Travis continued. “It was cool to see everyone this past week appreciating who he has been over the years.”

“I think the big boys still have some football left if he wants it,” Kelce concluded.

The Kelce brothers have not clearly stated whether Jason plans to retire from the NFL this week

Jason looked dejected and tearful after the 32-9 postseason loss to the Bucs. Older brother Kelce spent a moment with his family in the stands before slowly making his way into privacy.

He was not made available to the media after the match, but did speak to reporters on Wednesday, making no indication of his future plans in any way.

The Kelce brothers have a close relationship and discussing such serious matters as their retirement would be a heavily protected secret.

Neither Kelce has set a timeline for when the offensive lineman plans to announce his future plans.

Jason almost retired after the end of last season, but signed a one-year contract with Philadelphia that expires in March.

The elder Kelce, 36, has seen his fame rise since starting his “New Heights” podcast with co-host brother Travis.

Jason Kelce’s celebrity status went to another stratosphere after Travis started dating Taylor Swift.

While Jason’s season is over, Travis and the Chiefs will play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon.
