Travis Kelce Grotesquerie co-stars speak out on his acting skills – after Chiefs star admitted he ‘feels like an AMATEUR’ on the set
Veteran actress Niecy Nash praises Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for his skills in front of the camera.
Kelce will star opposite Nash in a horror series, Grotesquerie, directed by American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy.
Nash says she’s been working with the soccer star on set to rehearse her lines and that everything has been going smoothly so far.
“You know what, I’m pleasantly surprised. He’s doing really well,” Nash, 54, told Entertainment Tonight.
As for their rehearsals, the actress said it usually involves sitting around eating ‘in-n-out’ and reading words off a piece of paper.

Nash was then asked if she ever inquired about his relationship with Taylor Swift – to which the “Reno 911!” star replied, “Well, I ask and don’t tell! Let me just say that.”
The actress was a bit secretive about whether Nash questioned the Super Bowl champion about his girlfriend, the also 34-year-old superstar Taylor Swift.
Nash was the first to reveal that Kelce would star alongside her, when she shared a video of herself and the NFL star on set via Instagram in May.
In the clip, Nash says into the camera, “Guys, guess who I’m working with on Grotesquerie… dun-dun-dun-dun!” before panning to Kelce.
After the two started laughing, Kelce said, “We’re going to break new ground with Niecy!”
Kelce also shared the clip to his personal Instagram Story, writing, “Steppin into a new world with one of the legends!” and tagging Nash.
In previous episodes of the podcast “New Heights” with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis described his acting debut as “so much fun” and praised Murphy for being an “incredible writer, director, producer, everything all at once.”
“He seemed very confident that I could do this, and he kind of injected that into me in the first conversation that we had. So hopefully I don’t bomb this for him,” Travis said.
But Kelce also said, “When I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I’m not fired yet. They didn’t tell me I had to kick rocks after the first week.”
Kelce also has other gigs in Hollywood, including hosting Amazon’s ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’
A source told Us Weekly in May, “Travis had an incredible time filming. He had a blast.”
Of course, this isn’t the only Hollywood job Travis Kelce has done in recent months.
The tight end will host the Amazon Prime Video game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” — the streaming platform’s version of the show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”
“I grew up loving game shows and I’m thrilled to follow in the footsteps of so many TV legends by hosting my very first show with Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?,” Kelce said in a statement.
“The original show has been a huge success, so bringing a new format featuring everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen is sure to be entertaining.”
“I’m happy to be here on the hosting side and curious to see how these famous faces hold up.”
