Travis Kelce gets rave reviews from fans in exclusive first clip of his Grotesquerie acting debut: ‘Oozes charisma’

Travis Kelce’s first appearance in Grotesquerie hits screens on Wednesday night and judging by the preview clip he shared on New Heights, the Super Bowl winner is fitting in nicely in the acting world.

Kelce plays Ed Lachlan in the show, a horror series about a detective and a nun who investigate crimes that have affected a small town.

And ahead of his debut on this week’s episode, Kelce shared an exclusive clip on his podcast that he co-hosts with older brother Jason, who led the praise after seeing him play the role for the first time.

“Not gonna lie, you killed it there,” Jason said.

Travis, meanwhile, felt uncomfortable seeing himself on television again and told his brother, “I can’t watch it, I can’t even listen to it.” You’re full of s***’.

But fans agreed with Jason when the clip went viral on social media.

‘He just radiates charisma. The man has so many skills and he is so humble too, what a guy,” said one fan.

Another wrote: ‘He looks great and did a great job!! It definitely translates better on screen.

“Listened to the pod this morning and it sounded a little weird lol, but it makes more sense now that I look at it.”

Another response said: ‘He’s too good. I love it. He should be less modest about it.’

The Kansas City Chiefs star said earlier this year that he felt like “an amateur” on set for the series, which is written by Glee Co-creator Ryan Murphy.

Looking back in May, he said, “It was so much fun. I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t been fired yet.

“They didn’t tell me that after the first week I’m going to have to kick some damn rocks. Everyone has been so helpful in putting me at ease and giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this role.”

Travis joked to Jason that he was too uncomfortable seeing himself on television

As for Murphy’s influence, Kelce said, “I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity. I’m sure there are actors who would die if they had the chance to work with Ryan, and I get that in my first ever performance.

‘He seemed very confident that I could do this and he injected that [belief] in me the first conversation we had.’

Kelce has made no secret of his desire to pursue acting opportunities outside and beyond his football career.

He is set to make a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2 and is also hosting a quiz show – Are You Smarter than a Celebrity – launching later this month.

As for football, Kelce plays next Monday night when the Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. It will be the first time Jason has called a game his brother is playing in since joining Monday Night Football at ESPN.
