Travis Kelce begs brother Jason not to let his daughters watch ‘Grotesquerie’

Travis Kelce has told his brother Jason not to let his nieces watch the premiere of his new FX series ‘Grotesquerie.’

Things may not be going well for Kelce on the football field right now after a quiet start to the season for the Kansas City Chiefs, leading some fans and analysts to suggest he retire.

But the tight end is about to embark on a new chapter in his career as he prepares for life after football.

Celtic stars in the horror fiction ‘Grotesquerie’ alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley ManvilleMicaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Raven Goodwin.

The pilot premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on FX. The series will consist of 10 episodes and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.

Jason shared on their New Heights podcast ahead of the launch that he planned to sit down with his daughters — Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett — to watch the first episode.

“Are you the bad guy? Are you the killer?” Jason asked.

“I can’t tell you. You’ll have to keep an eye on Jason,” Travis replied.

“Make sure the girls watch this. They’re going to love this show.”

Jason said to his brother, ‘Listen. Kylie (his wife) was going to kill me. I’m going to get the girls. Is there a warning or are there a lot of surprises?’

Travis quickly shut down the prospect of his nieces watching him, replying, “Man! That was a total joke. Don’t let the girls watch this show.

“I don’t know if they’ll enjoy trying to understand what’s happening in the show. It’s very advanced for toddlers.”

Earlier this week, Ryan Murphy gave fans insight into how Kelce was handling his acting debut.

Respected TV writer and director Murphy, who has created a number of successful series and also worked with Kim Kardashian on another project, revealed that he wrote the role of Kelce specifically for him.

He also revealed that Kelce had been working with an acting coach for “several months” and that he knew everyone’s lines upon arrival.

Murphy said: ‘We were talking about his future and what he wants to do after the football season, and I actually gave him some fatherly advice.

“I always have a motto in my world and in my work, that a star is a star, is a star. It doesn’t matter what field you’re a star in. If you have that charisma, you’re going to take that with you to everything you do.

‘He was straight out of the book. He knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional. He was so dedicated. He kept saying to me, “I’m really coachable, coach me, coach me.”

“I did, and he turned out to be a delight. I’d love to continue working with him on this and other things.”

“I can’t say enough about him as a leader. He’s just the kindest, sweetest. Everything you think about him is true.”

While his character in the series has yet to be revealed, Kelce provided the intro for the official trailer before appearing twice in the teaser.

In the trailer’s only line, Kelce’s character monotonously says, “There’s no future after this.” He then reappears for a split second near the end of the trailer.

Kelce’s involvement in the series first came to light in May, shortly after he signed a two-year, $35.24 million contract extension with the Chiefs.
