It’s fair to say that Travis Kelce has had quite a year so far, and on Sunday night, things got even better for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
In their last outing against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, Kelce etched his name in the history books by reaching the 11,000-yard mark in just his 154th game for Kansas City.
His 27-yard catch in the second quarter of Sunday’s game pushed him past the milestone and set an NFL record in the process.
Kelce is the fastest tight end in history to reach a record 11,000 career yards, having done so in just 154 games, with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez previously holding the record of 191 games.
The 34-year-old, who has risen to fame in recent months amid his romance with pop sensation Taylor Swift, needed just 15 yards to hit the milestone that came into play.

He was already fourth on the all-time receiving yards list for tight ends and one of only four with more than 10,000 of them.
Kelce also ranks in the top four in career receptions and receiving yards, holds the record for most 100-yard receiving games and is on his way to an eighth 1,000-yard season – tied with no other tight end record of more then four.
It’s been an incredible year for the Chiefs star, who helped his team claim the Super Bowl in February.
In recent months, however, he’s made more headlines off the court than off, and his profile has skyrocketed since Swift confirmed the couple’s dating rumors by showing up at his September 24 game against the Chicago Bears.
But Kelce is no stranger to fame as he is one of the best tight ends in NFL history and is a two-time Super Bowl winner. And according to Okay magazineSwift is grateful for his patience with the attention that inevitably falls on them.
The publication quoted a source as saying: ‘He’s used to fans going crazy in football so it’s not too much of a shock.

“With Travis she is freer and can share her full life, and she loves that.”
