The Kansas City Chiefs have seen the biggest growth in social media this season over any other NFL team, as the team’s rise in online popularity coincides with speculation about a blossoming romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
Experts at CasinoAlfa recorded social media for each of the 32 NFL teams across Instagram,
The Chiefs ranked first with a 6.48 percent increase in total followers on their social media channels. What’s more is that Kansas City not only had the highest percentage increase in followers, but also the highest absolute number, at 548,400 new followers since the start of the season.
The Chiefs saw the highest percentage of followers come from TikTok, with 303,888 new fans coming from the video sharing platform alone.
The rise of social media in Kansas City coincided as speculation about Kelce and Swift dates increased, especially after the global pop star watched the Chiefs vs. Bears game at Arrowhead Stadium, and the more recent Jets vs. Chiefs game on October 2nd.

“Social media gives fans a way to connect with their fellow supporters, whether that’s celebrating their team’s successes or booing their losses,” Tudor Turiceanu, editor-in-chief of CasinoAlpha, told DailyMail.com.
“It’s been fascinating to see how each team’s social media has changed over the course of the season, with the Kansas City Chiefs getting an unexpected boost in followers thanks in part to Taylor Swift’s spotlight on Chiefs running back Travis Kelce.
“It will be interesting to see how these rankings change as the season progresses, with the Super Bowl contenders likely to make the biggest jump.”
