As the NFL Players Association pushes to end post-game interviews in locker rooms, retired Eagles center Jason Kelce and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce weighed in on the issue.
The NFLPA states that locker room interviews violate players’ privacy and asks that they be moved outside the locker room.
In the latest episode of their New heights podcast, the Kelce brothers gave their opinion the only way they know how: with a little humor.
“This is something guys have been talking about for a long time,” Jason began. ‘But for those of you who don’t know, after games or training there is a period where media members can go in and talk to players, interview them, ask them what happened in the game, what’s going on this week the hand is. .’
At that point, Travis interjected and said, “And meat-watching!” causing both brothers to chuckle.

“I don’t think that’s why they’re in there, but that’s what they say,” Jason said.
He continued, “I’m not going to lie… it’s a little weird having people in there, but I never minded that.
“Listen, my dick is low on the totem pole, I don’t impress anyone and I don’t do anything. If you want to watch it, go for it, be my guest.
‘It won’t impress you. It’s efficient, it gets the job done, especially when making girls. But I never cared, never thought about it, and never noticed anyone staring at it.”
“We’ve been in locker rooms all our lives,” Travis added before Jason shared an anecdote from their childhood.
“I remember going to the YMCA in Cleveland Heights and seeing an old man dragging his balls through a sauna,” the retired NFLer said. “I didn’t know we were suddenly… there’s nothing sexual about it.”
‘I don’t think this is a big problem, I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s so easy not to show your dick to everyone. For example, put on a towel or go to the bathroom. They don’t stand in the shower and say, “Hey, how did you catch that ball?!”
“Like, you definitely can’t show your dick if you don’t want to, guys. It’s not mandatory that your dick is out while talking to these people. “Excuse me, drop your pants please, I have to do my interview now.” I don’t know what the problem is!’

Travis then gave his opinion on the situation: “I’ve never had a problem with it. I think it’s encouraged by the NFL to be dressed up. I don’t think they encourage you to be naked.’
This part of the conversation drew laughter from the audience, as shared on social media.
As shared on Twitter, a Kelce fan said, “The whole segment of them talking about media in the locker room brings me to tears.”
Since the announcement was made to pull reporters from the locker rooms, both current and former players have praised the move.
That includes 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk — who specifically called out Sports Illustrated writer Grant Cohn on social media.
The Pro Football Writers of America said in a statement: “NFL players asking to speak outside the locker room has always been part of the league’s media access policy.”
“We are continuing discussions with NFLPA executives regarding media access policies,” the statement said. “The goal is to make everyone feel comfortable in the locker room and for players and clubs to follow the NFL’s media policies.”
