Travis Kelce admits he is ‘protective’ of Taylor Swift when they’re out on dates and ‘always knows where the exits are’ – as Chiefs star opens up on romance with pop queen in his latest podcast
Anyone looking to approach Taylor Swift at a restaurant or club might want to pay attention to the 6-foot-2 NFL player on her arm.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end and podcaster Travis Kelce opened up about his romance with the pop queen during his latest episode of New Heights, admitting to brother Jason that he feels “protective” of Swift when they’ve gone on dates together.
Of course, Swift already has a team of guards protecting her, one of whom was wiped out by Travis on Saturday.
After the All-Pro tight end and the singer appeared on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, they were seen leaving an SUV together in Manhattan. Only instead of letting Swift’s security open her door, the mustachioed Travis ran around the vehicle and gently drove the security guard in the other direction before doing the honors himself.
“Did you get any pushback for getting rid of security?” asked Jason, a Philadelphia Eagles center.

“Push them aside?!” responded the disbelieving younger brother.
“I mean it’s on camera, Travis,” Jason said.
Travis fully defended his intentions: “I didn’t pressure him. I put my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I had his back. If I had pushed him, he probably would have turned around and bagged me.”
Jason remained skeptical as Travis started embellishing.
“Good sir, will you excuse me?” Travis joked. ‘I have to go to the door. Sorry. Thank you. I’m right behind you. I don’t want to scare you. I know it’s your job to keep crazy people at bay, and if you just get shoved in the back while you’re standing in front of a door, that can probably be a little alarming.”
But Jason wasn’t done yet.
“Do you feel like a security guard when you’re with Taylor?” Jason asked.
“I feel like on a date I feel like, ‘I’m a man in this situation; I’m protective,” Travis said. ‘Yeah right. You always have that feeling or self-consciousness, I think.’
As many Swifties noted, Kelce opened her door after wiping out her security

Jason then took the opportunity to question his brother about his seats at Swift.
‘Which seat will you choose?’ Jason asked. “Your job is to protect Taylor, so it’s your job to have the best view.”
“No, you just need to know where the exits are,” Travis said.
But Jason had apparently thought a lot more about the subject.
“Preferably a chair against a wall so you can observe everything that’s happening,” Jason said.
Now it was Travis’ turn to be skeptical.
“There’s no way you’re doing this,” he said.
“Ask Kylie,” Jason said, referring to his wife. ‘I don’t like sitting in the middle of a room. I just like to sit against a wall.’
Travis poked fun at his older brother by saying “noted” and asking if he’s ever had a security team.

“No, I mean, I’m security,” the 6-foot-4, 282-pound Jason said.
“Oh, if you get security, you can probably go in the middle of the room,” Travis laughed.
The two brothers are about a month away from a Super Bowl rematch, meaning they will play each other for the fourth time in their respective careers.
Taylor has been seen wearing red at Travis’ Chiefs games, suggesting she supports Kansas City, but the Philadelphia native previously admitted to being an Eagles fan.
Ultimately, she may have to take a page from Donna Kelce’s playbook: Jason and Travis’ mother wore a custom Chiefs-Eagles jersey to February’s Super Bowl, which Kansas City won.
