The fiancée of Colorado star Travis Hunter has insisted the couple’s viral on-court dispute this weekend was never actually a big deal.
A video of Hunter clashing with partner Leanna Lenee after the Buffaloes’ win over Oklahoma State on Saturday caused quite a stir on social media, with fans left speculating about the cause of their apparent altercation.
Hunter was seen going in for a kiss and Lenee, who seemed unhappy with her husband, had an excited look on her face. The two then exchanged words that looked unpleasant.
However, a few days later, the Colorado WAG clarified in an Instagram post what really happened that night.
“By the way, these photos were taken 30 seconds after that segment. Remember, social media isn’t real, and five seconds is not enough to understand a situation,” Lenee captioned another image of her and Hunter looking much happier at Folsom Field.
‘You never know what someone can handle mentally. Thank you, honey, for always trying to cheer me up. You are truly the best partner a girl could ask for.”
Travis Hunter and Leana Lenee will get married next May, a month after the NFL Draft
Lenee explained that there was never an issue between her and Hunter during Saturday’s match
In those photos, Lenee wore all black to match Colorado’s uniforms on Saturday.
And on the back of her jacket was the message “HE12MAN,” a reference to Hunter as one of the best college football players in the country.
Hunter is considered a front-runner for the Heisman Trophy, given annually to the best player in the sport.
The Colorado star’s main competition is Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, with the award to be presented on December 14.
Hunter and Lenee are getting married next year, with May 24 as the date for their vows. That date will be at the start of many NFL rookie camps.
