Hollywood actress and model Shanna Moakler turned 48 this week.
And the former Playboy model took to Instagram to share a note about the big day.
The ex-wife of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker went makeup-free as she posed for a portrait with no filters, just sunlight.
And in her caption she said it wasn’t an easy birthday as her mother Gail passed away in January at the age of 77.
“I can’t deny that today it was hard to have my first birthday without my mom, because it was,” her heartbreaking note began.

Hard day: And in her caption she said it wasn’t an easy birthday. “I can’t deny that today it was hard to have my first birthday without my mom, because it was,” her note began.
He then added: “But I looked through my time jump today and I saw all the amazing people, places, friends, family and experiences I’ve been able to have in the last 48 years.”
“And I can’t begin to tell you how happy and thankful and thankful I am to have lived this amazing life with so many loving souls, they may not all be here yet, but I feel blessed and of course my amazing children,” she said.

‘Oh, and there’s no filter or makeup here, just some rays of sunshine for more drama… I like to think it was my mom shining on me ❤️’.
In January, Moakler shared that her mother, Gail, had died at the age of 77.
The former Miss USA confirmed to People on Tuesday on the passing of her mother, saying: “I’m so grateful for all the friends and family who have reached out and sent their condolences.”

The reality star added: “My mother was a beautiful, kind and loving woman and she was everything I hope to be.”
Moakler said that ‘as a mother, [Gail] she was loving and kind and supportive,” noting that “more than anything, she was my best friend and I will miss her every day of my life.”
He ended his statement by saying: ‘I understand that this is a part of life and something we can all support each other with, which is the loss of someone we love. Good luck.’

Moakler is the mother of her son Landon, 19, and her daughter Alabama, 17, with her ex Travis Barker, 46, whom she was married to from 2004 to 2008; and her daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 23, from her former engagement to boxer Oscar De La Hoya, 49.
Last May, she took to Instagram with a Mother’s Day tribute to her father via Instagram.
Moakler wrote: ‘#happymother’sday @gailmoakler, there can never be enough words to express how grateful I am to have you as my mother! Thank you for always being by my side and supporting me in this crazy life. I love you a lot! You really are the most amazing mother…’
For Mother’s Day in 2021, she shared a series of photos of Gail with the caption: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom @gailmoakler how lucky I am to have a mom like you! You are my best friend and my idol! I love you a lot!’
Moakler in August 2021 visited the site to wish his parents, Gail and John, a happy 50th anniversary.
