Travis Barker’s boarding pass from 2024 trip in Australia up for sale for $8K – after rocker overcame fear of flying following 2008 crash

Travis Barker is selling his boarding pass from his recent trip to Australia for $8,000.

The document, along with other memorabilia from Barker’s 2023 world tour and the recording of his latest album Blink-182, is now available for purchase on the Trophy website, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the nonprofit Lost But Not Forgotten.

For Barker fans, the boarding pass is a major hurdle the rocker has had to overcome.

In 2008, Barker survived a fatal plane crash that killed four people and left him unable to fly for 13 years.

But now Barker is flying again, and the boarding pass he used on his recent flight in Australia appears to give a nod to the challenges he overcame after the crash.

Barker drew a cross in the bottom center of the document and wrote in capital letters, “I know that angels are watching over me.”

The number 7 is seen by many as an ‘angel number’ and the musician’s ticket showed both the date February 7 and seat number 7.

The pass was for his February 2024 trip on Qantas Airlines from Sydney, Australia to Perth.

A description of the item reads: ‘A truly unique item for the ultimate Travis Barker collector. After being out of the air for over 13 years following his near-fatal plane crash, he was finally able to tour overseas again recently. This extremely rare commercial boarding pass is not just a piece of music memorabilia, it is a genuine piece of Travis himself, complete with original handwritten note and cross-drawing.’

The blink-182 drummer flew Down Under with his wife Kourtney Kardashian and their family for his band’s first tour in a decade.

The pop-punk band last toured Australia in 2013, but Travis didn’t go due to his fear of flying, which he developed after a plane crash in 2008.

Travis previously credited the “power of love” from his 44-year-old wife Kourtney Kardashian – with whom he has an eight-month-old son, Rocky, who helped him overcome his fear of flying.

Speaking to the LA Timeshe said, “I think the power of love has really helped me. Kourt has made it possible for me to fly, my children can fly now. She has healed us.

Barker wrote,

Barker wrote, “I know I have angels watching over me” and also put a cross on the boarding pass

‘Every time I fly, it takes a little piece of my life. The amount of stress and anxiety it causes is just unbearable. It brings up all those old traumas and sometimes I think, ‘Is this worth it?’

“But I also don’t like being held by anything. I don’t like being afraid, and I don’t like things from my past determining my future.”

Travis shares Alabama, 18, and Landon, 20, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. He is also stepfather to Shanna’s daughter Atiana de la Hoya, 25.

In August 2021, Travis successfully flew on a plane for the first time in 13 years when he flew to Cabo San Lucas with Kourtney.

In September 2008, Travis boarded a private jet in South Carolina to fly to Los Angeles after a show, accompanied by his friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein, his security guard Charles “Che” Still and his assistant Chris Baker.

As the small plane attempted to take off, one of its tires blew out, causing the plane to overshoot the runway, fly through the airport fence, and over the nearby highway, eventually crashing into the embankment at the side of the road.

The pilot, Sarah Lemmon, and co-pilot, James Bland, were killed within minutes of smoke inhalation and burns when the plane burst into flames on impact, the Chicago Tribune reported. Still and Baker were also killed on impact.

Travis suffered third-degree burns over 65 percent of his body and spent three months in the hospital, where he underwent skin grafts and 26 surgeries to repair the damage.

After the crash, Travis was overcome with paralyzing fear, even at the sight of an airplane.
