Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama says she is ‘currently getting better’ after mystery medical issue that sparked health fears

Alabama Barker shared an update with her fans after suffering a mysterious medical issue.

Travis Barker’s 18-year-old daughter took to Instagram to tell her concerned fans that she is “currently getting better” after being admitted to hospital on Tuesday.

She shared two unrelated videos and said one of them, in which she showed off a gift for herself, was “the only thing that made me feel better.”

She first posted a video from Monday of her hairdresser installing a copper red wig, before sharing a clip of Thomas Connelly unwrapping shiny custom grills.

“The only thing that makes me feel better is watching this,” she wrote before sharing that she hasn’t been using her phone while she heals and recovers.

“A serious note,” she wrote on a blank background. “Thank you for all the love and support.”

She added, “If I haven’t replied to your message it’s only because I haven’t been on my phone.”

Addressing her fans and followers personally, social media wrote: “I’m doing better right now.”

She then added “love you guys” alongside three star and three white heart emojis.

Alabama did not reveal why she was in the hospital or provide any clarity on her mysterious medical problem.

Earlier this week, she sparked concern after asking fans for prayers after sharing a since-deleted photo of what appeared to be a hospital.

She initially uploaded the image to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, but quickly deleted it.

The photo did not show the teen but was taken as she lay in a bed with a monitor next to her and a clock showing 10:20.

In the text added over the photo, Alabama wrote to her two million followers: “Send me your prayers,” followed by a crying face emoji.

She later shared another photo while at an airport, writing, “I’m back baby,” but chose not to comment on the previous hospital post, per We weekly. However, the module had apparently also been removed.

Last August, Alabama revealed she suffers from an autoimmune disease and a “thyroid problem” as she fell back on body shamers.

The media personality shared a TikTok video at the time explaining that she had gained about 5-10 pounds, but expected to get back to her “normal weight” once her thyroid and autoimmune disease were “balanced.”

She said: ‘I also have a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease. So that’s one of the main reasons why I’m gaining weight.’

“So it would be greatly appreciated if you guys would keep your opinions to yourselves, it would get you further in life,” Barker continued as she criticized haters and trolls.

“Once my thyroid and my autoimmune disease are in balance, I’ll go back to my normal weight, which is what causes the weight gain.”

Alabama continued, “You guys are also acting like I gained a thousand pounds. It’s about 5, 10 pounds, which is very normal for a lot of girls.’

“Weight fluctuates and I don’t want young girls who see this and gain weight to ever think there is something wrong with it.”

“There’s a certain point at which your health has to change if it affects you, but no. For me, that’s not the case, and I would appreciate it if you guys would put yourselves in my shoes,” she continued.

The since-deleted hospital photo also comes not long after Alabama clapped back over claims she had “a lot” of cosmetic surgery.

In an Instagram photo series shared earlier this month, the 18-year-old struck several poses while wearing a colorful mesh dress that partially covered a bikini she was also wearing.

In the caption, the media influencer typed, “Does she know you’re calling?” and social media users jumped to the comments section to share their thoughts on the images.

One typed: ‘This child has had a lot of cosmetic surgery at a very young age, I hope she doesn’t do it too much! She looks good now!’

Alabama later left an additional comment defending herself, while also expressing the positive messages she received.

‘I really appreciate the love. “I am natural, apart from my lips, I accept the fact that I am naturally beautiful,” she wrote.

In September 2023, she opened up on her Instagram Stories about wanting to take the high road when it came to negative comments on social media. ‘Sometimes I find myself wanting to clap back. Bite off anyone who barks at me.’

“But then I look at those people, really look at them… what kind of lives they live. The choice they make. The things they do. Compared to who I am, what I do and how I live,” she wrote.

‘And that keeps me humble. Misery loves company, but we are cut from different cloth, made of different sauces.”

Finally, she added, “Stay blessed, wish them well and remind yourself that the wicked never win.”

Alabama is the daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The two were married from 2004 until their divorce was finalized in 2008, and also share son Landon, 20.

The musician married Kourtney Kardashian in 2022 and the couple welcomed son Rocky at the end of last year in November.
