Travis and Jason Kelce ‘sign $100MILLION New Heights deal’ with Amazon

Travis and Jason Kelce have signed a $100 million deal with Amazon to produce their hugely successful podcast New Heights.

Wondery, owned by Amazon, has exclusive rights to sell and distribute ads for the podcast. The podcast’s popularity soared last season after it was revealed that Kansas City Chiefs star Travis was dating Taylor Swift.

Variety reported a statement from the brothers who said, “We are incredibly excited to be working with Wondery on the next phase of New Heights.

“We love this show and the fan base that has grown with us over the past two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will bring a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights’!”

“We are going to create groundbreaking moments together through this partnership. We are excited to launch Season 3.”

New Heights will remain widely available on all podcast streaming services, including Wondery’s platforms and YouTube. Wondery+ subscribers will have access to exclusive ad-free listening.

The deal also includes livestreams and the rights to develop, produce, license and distribute all merchandise based on ‘New Heights’.

“‘New Heights’ is on the surface a sports podcast, and sports is such a well-listened-to category,” Wondery CEO Jen Sargent said. “But it’s become a cultural phenomenon — they’re in that cultural zeitgeist.”

Sargent added that the company has been following Kelces’ podcast since it launched at the start of the 2022-23 NFL season.

The deal follows another major move for Wondery, after the company recently signed an $80 million contract with comedian and podcaster Dax Shepard.

Wondery’s portfolio also includes a number of sports podcasts, including ‘Six Trophies,’ ‘Men in Blazers’ and ‘The Offensive Line With Annie Agar.’

The podcast has been a hit since it first hit platforms in the 2022 season, culminating in the Super Bowl where the two brothers went head to head, with Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs winning over Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, last season it reached a new high after it played a major role in Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift.

Since its inception, the podcast has taken many forms, from their usual conference-style format where each brother records from different locations, to face-to-face episodes – including one in a Philadelphia-themed pub in London – and a live show at the University of Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, the Kelce brothers have also found success elsewhere, beyond the podcast and the football field.

Travis has signed on to host the television show ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’, a spin-off of ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’

The show, filmed in Los Angeles during the American football off-season, will air on Amazon Prime and its launch date, October 16, coincides with Kelce’s NFL week off with the Chiefs.

Travis has also landed a role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series, the horror drama ‘Grotesquerie,’ and is also reportedly in the running for roles in the action comedy ‘Loose Cannons’ and the sequel to Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore.’

Jason, who retired from the NFL in March after 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles, will make his debut as a commentator for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown this season.

The former center has a history of collaborations with the Amazon brand and was previously featured as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast.

He and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary – ‘Kelce’ – on the streaming service in 2023.

They started the podcast in September 2022 and release episodes every Wednesday, with a bonus edition every Friday during the NFL season previewing the weekend’s games.

In addition to the NFL, the brothers also discuss their personal lives — including Travis and Swift’s relationship — and their upbringing in Cleveland.
